I guess under $15 isn't going to happen?

How about under $30?

Stangeland (around $17 - 20)
Innocent Bystander ($15 - 20 ... suprisingly good Aussie Pinot)

under $15

2006 Muirwood Arroyo Secco is decent for $10.  Very ripe red cherry and some spice, but very simple.

For $16 the 2006 Willowbrook Sonoma County has been my everyday pinot over the last year or so.

Murdoch James (Marlborough, NZ) is fantastic at around $17-$18, but hard to find.

I know I have others in the ball park.  I'll add as they come to me.

Under $30:
WH Smith Sonoma Coast ($28)
McHenry (if you can find it - $20-$30 depending on vintage)

More to come...

O'Reilly's Pinot or Cottonwood Marina Piper Pinot. Both could easily fetch double what they go for. If you put Oregon on the label you can name your price no matter how good it is.

Siduri Sonoma County
2005 Robert Mondavi Pinot Carneros
2005 Stangeland Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
Alamos Pinot Noir Selectionne 2007
Greenstone Point 2007 Marlborough
Meridian Pinot Noir 2006
Siduri Willamette
Joseph Swan Cuvee de Trois
2005 Dominique Laurent Cote de Nuits Villages VV

I haven't tried all these, so I can't vouch for some of them.....I just keep a running QPR list of recs that I see.  Also not sure what price these are at in the US, but I believe they're all under $25.

Take a look at my current inventory, I have over 25 cases of Oregon PN.  Be careful of the 07's, especially the lower end, some not so good.  I enjoy the Owen Roe Sharecropper and Brick House for lower end PN's right now.  Not buying anymore now, waiting for the 08's to showup in the fall.

I agree on the A to Z, but try to find the '06 which is better than the '07.  I also agree with the Innocent Bystander, but prefer the A to Z.  For $30 the Amisfield is usually good.

Anne, like graf I was also going to recommend the Siduri Sonoma Coast vineyard but that is really not under $15, more in the $22 - $25 range. Sounds like you had just a GREAT trip to Napa! Izzy

McHenry will definitely be hard to find.  But I was just throwing it out there as I really didn't know what her purpose was for the question.

Bascially what I'm looking for is a pinot that I can use in place of chardonnay when I have chicken.  I wanted something that was affordable as a daily drinker, although it seems there aren't many out there.  I'll see what I can find from everything listed so far.  Thanks!

The Wine Delight in Cupertino has the McHenry at $20.99 - If you like a feminine style of pinot you will love this - It is listed on Wine Searcher.

I would heartily recommend Chard Farm and Amisfiled from Central Otago - good and decently priced.

While I didn't fully score or taste this wine as I was leading a wine tasting for some "newbies" I did think this Pinot, for the price point, was pretty decent.  2007 Castle Rock Pinot Noir Willamette Valley  This is a Californina (Calistoga) bottled Pinot Noir using Willammette Valley grapes.

My recollection was a very nice cherry and spice flavor profile, decent balance and a medium finish.

I have a $12 Oregon PN that doesn't make it out of OR that I can send you, once I get my case. I am waiting for better temps in ID/MT/WY/NE etc. Just to show you a good us PN can be had for under $12 if you live in Oregon that is

2007 Parker Station Pinot Noir (USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Barbara County)

Nothing fantastic, but it's a pinot. And at around $12.50, it falls into your "under $15" category.

2005 Carpenter Creek.  It was about $17-18 on the shelf but has been marked down to $10.99.  Decent Pinot with good balance and a great QPR.

Another vote here for the Siduri appelation pinot's.  For under $30 they are great and drink well over a few days.  Shipping is reasonable as well if you can't find them locally.

Road River Pinot Noir Russian River - it was only $9.99.  It's the "best" under $15 that I've tasted.  And I've grinded my way through quite a few in search...
