Good morning good Santas!

Fetching a box of double proportion from behind the shoes in the closet promises perhaps a double delight!

Clues outside are the involvement of the Benchmark Wine Group of California, and a "Santa" from perhaps Atlanta.

Inside a packing slip for two bottles of 2015 Peter Michael Chardonnay La Carriere, but inside the packing actually sits...

1x 2011 Rasa Living In The Limelight Petit Verdot
1x 2012 Salus Unoaked Chardonnay

A fascinating combo off the beaten path for double delights! Thanks Santa!

Simply having a look at our Atlanta crew with a cross reference of cellars, mgriffith are you my Santa?

Outed on the first shot. Just damn.

I pretty much knew the Rasa would give me away, but I think you will find it interesting.

It's a beautiful, snowy day here in NYC, and it just got A LOT nicer with a 2013 Rotie Cellars Homage from our SS!! So cool!! Super excited to try this and might even open tonight!!

Thank you so much, Santa!!

So shall we guess???

Based on notes written on Rotie Cellars wines, cross referencing that with other winos we know and those we don't, then running all the data through the giz-mometer, our first guess is.....MWEST. Are you our most generous Secret Santa???

Well I was thinking reveal time was 12:00 EST... anyway...

TWO packages, 3 lovely bottles.

First off: 2013 Progeny Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve and Trinity Rouge. Wow! What is going on? New (to me) Napa producer with lots of CT love. How generous, thanks you SS!!!

There was no note with that so some sleuthing to do. But wait! Theres another box!

O.M.G! Guess who got the 1986 Diamond Creek Gravelly Meadow!? This one comes with a card: “Seems you like old wine and this producer and the obvious answer was to bring those two thing together...”

Well that leaves me speechless (almost). What I can say is I’m truly touched for these thoughful gifts. I also have a suspicion about who my Super SS is, but a little sleuthing first to confirm or cast doubt before I guess.

Thank you, again. Did I say generous and thoughtful? Yes I did but I’d like to say it again. Thank you so much for your generosity and thoughtfullness in sending these wonderful wines.

Technically Don, you are off the hook for the first wrong guess. It was me who asked Scott first, but he didn't answer until after he answered you:

Let's see.... the main conspirators were S1, ChrisinSunnyside, Hollowine, and musedir. 3 of them are Bad Santas, so I'm gonna guess it's Hollowine. The symmetry would be nice - I was his SS last year.

Scott / Hollowine: are you my CellarTracker Secret Santa?

As much as I LOVE German Riesling, my messing with my location and your head is only because I've been incorrectly classified a Good Santa. But that's the way the Cookie crumbles sometimes...

Sorry, not your Santa.

..... and it's on to the next wrong assumption for me. Gotta really start looking at who would be the most likely silent conspirator with that group of 4.

EDIT: the accidentally on purpose Freudian slip of capitalizing the C in Cookie would have been a nice ploy if Dawn was a Good Santa.

Both good Santas. Hmmmm....

Yep...that is pretty much it.

Sorry Don, I'm not your Santa...

I will add that I had the 2000 Silver Oak Napa a few weeks ago, it was a bit faded but with an hour of air really opened up. I'd put these in the drink now column, give it some air and go for it.

My thoughts exactly. I have an '02 in the cellar and I see a small vertical tasting of aged Silver Oak in my (near) future. Perhaps with RedRedMoreRed.

OUCH, stop twisting my arm!!!

I don't have a full reveal yet. My wine was sent to my storage place where it was dutifully unpacked and inventoried. They listed it as 2013 Cayuse Syrah 1.5L. I'll have to grab it from storage early next week and fill in the details. In any event Cayuse of all sizes or varieties are wines of awesomeness to me.

Thanks very much!

Well then, got myself a very oversized box for a single bottle of wine... from the land of Oregon, no less, this thing has traveled a long way.

Lots o' bubble paper to pop to my heart's content as an added bonus; an even bigger bonus is that it's not one but TWO bottles of wine!

A 2012 St. Joseph from Domaine Faury. right up my alley (rhone, bdx, burg are my jam!)... and a 375 of 2003 Rieussec. I've had the '04, '05, and '01 at some point ('01 one of the best wines I've ever had), but have not had the '03 yet! Rieussec is probably my favorite Sauternes house and Sauternes my favorite type of wine, so this should be a treat...

I think I'll have both of these with boeuf daube for Christmas dinner... should be a great meal.

Now, as for this bottle coming from Oregon, I'll have to do some sleuthing to figure out who it came from. Let's see...

Thank you Santa for a very lovely and generous gift of:

2012 Vieux Chateau Certan

I am excited to try this wine but will give it the recommended amount of resting time. Having read all of the notes it seems that this is going to be a wonderful treat. Until then I will add it to my display wracking as a reminder of the generosity of strangers and the good things to come.

As for the guessing the bottle was drop shipped from an in state retailer. There were no clues on the shipping labels. It seemed pointless to try and check the good Santa's consumption history. Looking at the tasting notes on this particular wine there is a lovely note from an MC. This Santa group has a Mclancy and an MC2...

MC2 are you my Secret Santa?

Nice! I was wondering who got those stickies. The '03 is the junior version of the '01 - a little less acidity, and a little more tropical fruit, but overall a similar profile.

For my Santa...

I have no clue. I'm also running around and not able to sleuth much, but anonymous box from Vinopolis makes it tricky.

Might just have to go EBS (Extremely Bad Santa) and cheat...or is that Exceptionally Brilliant Santa? Hmmm...

I might be barking up the wrong tree with my conspiracy theory, but since it isn't one of the Fantastic 4 I have to figure it's another regular who would be most likely to be in on the game. Of the Good Santas, I would think mclancy10006, mc2 wines, and crispino are the probables.

Given that, my second guess is crispino - Chris, are you my CT SS?

Correct! When choosing your gift I was contemplating if giving a second bottle of something already in your cellar was a good idea. Then CranBurgundy chimed in noting that another bottle of a particularly great wine would be welcomed.

Check in on the Jamet when you feel the time is right, and you now have a second bullet to fire when it is mature.

Merry Christmas!
