3 x 2013 Arrowood Reserve Speciale 750ml - When you get a discount of over $85 on 3 bottles of a wine you know you love and would have paid full price for, you GOTTA jump on it.

1 x 1994 Reserve Speciale Merlot 1.5L - How's THAT for a Library Release? I got the very last one!

Might grab some of the '95 RS Merlot too. Joe tells me there are 1 or 2 mags and a few 750ml bottles left. Then he tried to tempt me with their last 6 '01 Monte Rosso bottles. Seeing as I only have 4 or 5 left and that stuff is goooooood, I might have to cave and pick them up too.

..... and then I'll think about some '12 RS Cab mags and 750s.

..... oh, and maybe a '13 RS Cab mag.

..... yeah, maybe I better get some Riesling to pacify the wife too.

2x 2013 Comte Liger Belair Clos du Chateau
2x 2013 Comte Liger Belair Clos des Grandes Vignes
1x 1998 Coche Dury Auxey Duresses

Saw these wines at a small wine shop at Nagasaki, Japan. Couldn’t resist as prices were really attractive. Now I have to lug the five bottles home.

My son's law firm has a best partners Holiday discount sale with Rex Hill/A to Z. Bought 3 cases of daily drinkers for wife and daughter, PN, PGr and Chard for them and tossed in a half case of PN for me. This should get us through the Holidays. Hard to turn down half off wines.

Nothing exciting. By December, I tend to have more pricey/"better" wines still planned for consumption this year or very early next year. My natural frugality tends to save the best for last. So I bought 2 daily drinker reds to mix in as end-of-year cellar defenders and as cooking wine. Plus, a bottle of daily drinker Chard as a gift for a neighbor; she prefers simple whites and so does family she's likely to entertain between now and New Year's.

1 Vinas Chilenas Pinot Noir 2016, TJs Chilean under $4
1 Panilonco Carmenere 2016, another TJs Chilean at $4
1 Springwood Chardonnay 2016, Australian at $4.

Big spender here.

Frugal Cheers!

I gave in to some 2015 pre-arrival. Prieure-Lichine and
Brane-Cantenac.

I really had hoped to avoid buying any wines this young that need a good amount of aging, but notes from the Margaux commune looked too good to completely pass on.

Dang.............I thought I was going to make it until next year. ever since I tried one of my 2012 Pax Griffins Lair Syrahs I've been thinking about buying some more. I only bought two bottles when it came out and I really liked it. I found some at a local wine shop. Go figure.

2014 Etude Pinot Noir Estate Carneros x 4

Found a really good price on this locally especially given the average CT price/score. We shall see.

A box of Juan Lopez No. 2 from a very reputable source (used them for over 5 years).

A mixed case of Piemonte/Loire reds.

Have you tried that yet? I know that would be infanticide, but I'm curious if it's up to par with the '07, '10, and '13.

I did have it at a restaurant a few months ago. Gonna have a great life, that one. Despite the vintage, the quality - structure/power - hasn't really dipped!

Nuts. I was hoping you'd say "I only bought it because I do every year. This might be a vintage to skip." Guess the pending list is due for an increase soon.

Thanks b3!

I'm allocated a "Super Pack" and a Sparky, but I'm waffling...
