That sounds like quite a session Paul852.
Over a reasonable length of time and with appropriate food and water that sounds quite feasible.
As I am away from home quite a lot I do tend to sometimes see off one bottle quite quickly without sharing.
But my conscience seems to kick in on the second bottle.
Also those Mas Amiel wines would probably not be that light in alcohol, and the sherry.......
Hope you had a great Christmas and New Year.

Glad to hear that someone else finds it plausible! I didn't take the PX in the end. And the cava is quite light.

But I quelled any pangs of conscience some years ago in this regard, and it does get easier with practice!

1.5 glasses per hour over 12 hours equals 4 bottles of wine (at 4.5 glasses per bottle). The recommended pace of drinking to avoid intoxication is 1 drink per hour so for a large man of 300+ lbs ~1.5 drinks per hour is feasible.

Paul852 is my hero, for he hath made my own debauchery seem downright angelic.

Though given the weight class difference, my lush quotient must be awfully close

Onboard here too. Long day of drinking, really not that big of a thing, I'd say. Don't know if I can bring myself to really aim at 4 bottles before posting, but have done 3 bottles, with the first one being an average 13% or 14% alcohol, then a 15+% hottie, followed by a 20% port. Didn't get but a couple hours of sleep that night, and they wouldn't have been worth crap anyway, and then I felt like literal hell the next day.

I agree with the sentiment here... For that much wine over that long of a period is not unheard of. Some of us more experienced drinkers (I grew up in Milwaukee, and it was in our baby bottles) we can hold our liquor (or wine) better than some others. The average body removes about 1-drink an hour, so if you drink 1 glass of wine per hour, for 13-hours, you will have 1-glass of wine in your system by the end. That's 2.6 bottles and you'd have no buzz. Theoretically. I can probably drink 3 bottles in about 2-3 hours and I would be pretty buzzed, but not fall down drunk. Using that math, 5 bottles in 13 hours, would be nada.

Good for you Paul852. Cheers Mate

I still don't get it?
My wife often speaks of some modern nation?
Where is it?
Does it support life?
Is the environment enjoyable?
Still wondering?

♥️ this thread!!!

The wine math alone makes it fun, but the justification level is what makes it great.

I was too far gone to know which thread to post in.

It's that time of year again!

NV Champagne Lallier Champagne Grand Cru Grand Rosé Brut
2014 Cantina Della Volta Lambrusco di Sorbara Spumante Rosé
2016 Marrenon Luberon Grand Marrenon Blanc White Rhone Blend
2018 Château Fortia Châteauneuf-du-Pape Edmée Le Roy

Actually in the reverse order...

Anyway, done that (again) listening to stuff on youtube including Beth Hart.

Also watching Tina Turner and Rod Stewart doing Hot Legs, which apparently is not politically correct any more, despite your then president officially declaring that Ms Turner has the hottest legs on the planet (back then at least), a sentiment with which I would have to agree.

Oh, and Tom Jones and Rhiannon Giidens doing St James Infirmary Blues. Music doesn't get much better than that. Althought the obscenely talented Hugh Laurie doing the same tune comes close.

My pleasure.

Although sadly, somehow my music choices on Youtube have caused it to push to me a live stream of Trump preening himself in front of an audience of evangelical religious people. The whole big brother thing clearly still needs some fine tuning.

This is not the best way for me end my night...

I find it reassuring how often YouTube gets it wrong. Trump is never the best way to end your night. Bit of Neil Young perhaps?

I'm impressed! I'm sure I've had 4+ bottles (equivalent) at large tastings (TexSom, etc.), but never alone! Something to aspire to in 2020!!
