Yossarian called me a wimp, so i decided to open a basic 2015 Aloxe-Corton tonight. Gotta fight for traditions when those Brits push back at us!

That weak livered Brit can't drink more than 3 or 4 bottles at lunch. Talk about being a wimp. :)

Ask him about kebabs...

Was glad to turn up this thread!
2009 Fourrier Gevrey V.V. - Tapped it on Coravin last night but will be try again tonight to see it it is opening up (hope so). Surprising tart red cherry and tannin for such a ripe year.

Also: The 2017 Faiveley Mercurey Clos Rochette blanc- a favorite in our house, this punches well above its’ weight quality-wise.

I think I’ll play too:
2013 Maison Ilan Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Les Chaffots

Good thing I didn’t plan on winning this week’s game.

Started with a humble Jadot Bourg Bl but ended with a less humble 85 Moulin Touchais

Still drinking through my basic Bourgogne from 2014, 2015 & 2016. With the right producer one can enjoy the inherent quality of Burgundy without all the $$$ and aging. It's not sexy but i love a nice light, crunchy and earthy Burg.

'twas a Happy Beer Thursday for me, what with Fuller's London Pride and Duvel...... Burgundy is turning into unicorn tears.

I was reading about Becky Wasserman's passing recently. Quite a lady and an American in Burgundy highlighting small Burgundian producers to the USA and holding court with dinners many people in the Burgundy wine industry. I don't think that I have ever come across or known about one of those small producers but I would like to seek a few out.

When I informed HRH about Becky’s passing she let out a wail. We’ve celebrated many Thursdays with bottles with a Wasserman Selections sticker attached.
BTW we have just started our sixteenth year of Burgundy Thursdays.

Heck, I’ve been advised in the past that even Morgon is unacceptable

skifree, it was tasty, medium bodied and went down so easy with dinner that before I knew it the bottle was empty.
