Just got notified about an incoming wine shipment scheduled to arrive on Tuesday or a Wednesday. Thing is… I teach Tuesday and won’t be home for FedEx, and Wednesday we head for Seattle to spend Thanksgiving with my son and daughter-in-law. We get back late on Monday. FedEx policy is to send packages back to the shipper after five days…

Redirect it to a place to pick up, I use a Walgreens locally for this.

Redirect to a Fedex store if one in the area.
You can pick it up when you return.

Pre-covid, I did this frequently when traveling.

Have also found that both UPS and Fedex leave at home without signature recently (not their policy, but in contactless times - happens frequently).
But could be an issue if you have porch pirates in your area.

When you go online at FedEx you can usually schedule a different delivery day. Just schedule the following Monday or, if the Fedex terminal is not to far away, you can ask them hold for pick-up. they're usually open till about 8pm. I have not had much luck in getting wine shipment redirected once UPS and Fedex have them in their systems.

The secret to enjoying a good wine.
1. Open the bottle and allow to breathe
2. If it doesn't look like it's breathing, give it mouth to mouth.

No, the limit is five days. After five, they send it back.
