Hello! I am new to Cellar Tracker within the last few months, and I am starting to explore some of the additional ways I can use it: for example, figuring out which wines I want to buy next or when to open the wines I have in my cellar.

While the largest number of bottles in my cellar are from Bordeaux, the next largest number are from Tuscany (followed by Piemonte). For the Bordeaux, I have been able to find a couple prolific Bordeaux-loving CT users whose tasting notes are informative and whose preferences mesh with my palate. However I haven't yet found anyone similar for Italian wines. Any suggestions for knowledgeable Italian wine fans who I should check out?

Tim Heaton is a frequent poster here in the forum and would be a good palate for you to follow. He is very knowledgable about Italian wines and spends a good portion of each year in Italy visiting producers and trade events.

Tim is The Man. He travels extensively in Italy and posts incredible notes and pics.

Although I note that, sadly, Tim has only posted a total of 29 notes and nothing on his blog in the past 2 years.

Have you considered a subscription to vinous.com? Eric Guido is the current reviewer and is excellent.

Although certainly dated there is a lot of general, but very knowledgeable information to be found on this forum in many of Maestro's posts

I haven't talked to Tim in ages.

I haven't talked to Tim in ages.

I talked to him on the phone at the beginning of the year, and we emailed a bit before our trip to Europe back in March. Haven't checked in with him or heard from him since, though. Looks like he was on the main CT site earlier today, though.

He's doing well, I'll be visiting him this Friday. I'll shout at him and tell him to check this thread.
