A thought...

I utilize the community drinking windows often to determine when a wine might be reaching its peak, and the "ready to drink" report as well.

However, for certain wines where someone might appreciate it earlier rather than later, or maybe a bottle that someone has a single of, and wants to err on the side of caution and drink either on the earlier or later side of the window, it would be nice to have an option to put in not just a personal drinking window (that contributes to the average drinking window put in by other CT'ers), but one that does not contribute to this average; and one that we could sort our cellar by. It could be entered on the same screen that we put in our contribution to the community drinking window average and as noted above would be nice to be able to sort by.

As an example, the 2005 Chateau Montrose. It appears to be slamming right now with appropriate decanting and certainly is in its drinking window, but I have a bottle I don't want to touch for around 10 years and may drink at some point between 2033 and 2043 most likely.

Any thoughts?

Sorry, no, that is way too complex.

Feel free to enter your own window. It will contribute to the average. Don't worry about it.

CT already has about 10x too many knobs, bells, whistles and quirks.
