Essentially, it's the same argument audiophiles have with lesser equipment/systems. Dark Side Of The Moon still sounds great on a less than cutting edge, top of the line system. Does a top of the line system make a difference? Absolutely but is it worth the time and expense for the return? Same with the juice. Put the 1990 Montrose in top of the line Bordeaux glasses or in red plastic Dixie cups...it is still going to slay. Is it better in the expensive glassware? Um...yeah. Is it worth paying an extra c-note for many? Um...no.

That wasn't the question from the OP if my understanding is correct. The point was different restaurants each had their stemware - one may have Riedels, another may have the top of the line. The OP was familiar with the wine pricing and noticed the correlation of prices to the quality of the glassware. The question was whether YOU would pay a higher markup on a bottle for drinking from a top of the line wine glass versus paying less markup in an "inferior" wine glass.

Agreed! But in a restaurant you don't get to choose the mark-up.

The question then becomes at a 3X mark-up do you expect the best stemware?

Exactly!

Or, do you expect the best stemware at a 3X mark-up?
