Obviously buried under piles of roast pig, foie gras, smelly cheese and several dozen bottles from his in-laws cellar.

pjaines -> RE: pjaines' b'day? (1/20/2013 11:45:41 AM)

Thanks all.

Been very busy. And getting old. I hardly have the strength to put my teeth in every morning.

Had a decent birthday, but the highlight (apart from waking up next to The Current Mrs Jaines) was Gareth coming to my house and giving me a 1983 La Mission Haut Brion. Stunning wine.

Paul is one guy that never needs a reason to party. However I will send him a belated birthday cheer.[:D][:D]

garethpowell -> RE: pjaines' b'day? (1/20/2013 3:18:36 PM)

Had a fab night with Paul and Thursday. Lovely mrs Jaines laid on some sumptuous food, including a delectable rabbit lasagne. We had some lovely wines, a lovely roumier from 2002 (I think) a delightful 1991 Tondonia, the really rather nice 1983 mission haut brion, as well as something else I cannot remember that replaced a corked (doh!) 1994 beaucastel. Though annoyingly I had to get a rather late train back and missed out on a more length night [8D]

khmark7 -> RE: pjaines' b'day? (1/20/2013 4:47:23 PM)

Yes, but did you absolve Paul of all his sins???

musedir -> RE: pjaines' b'day? (1/20/2013 5:58:04 PM)

A man's gotta know his limitations.

Looking forward to it more than I think is healthy for your liver.
Hope I chose the best gift! ( a btl of jam-jammy Petit Sirah.)
