When I list wines "In My Cellar" I am given a "price" for each wine which is the average price of all bottles of that wine that I have ever bought.

Personally I would much prefer it to show the average price paid for all the bottles remaining "In My Cellar".

(and similarly if I do a list of all wines purchased then the price should be the average of the wines in that list, and the same with all wines consumed)

Doesn't that make more sense? (i.e. the price shown should be the average price of whatever bottles are contained in the list in question)

That is a nice idea, but it is not possible. It would involve us doubling up all of the pre-computed averages that we maintain for you. Right now we just store your average purchase price. If you toggle down to INDIVIDUAL BOTTLE display mode, you will see the actual price of each bottle.
