5:30 opened and decanted 1976 Duhart Milon Paulliac as my last puppy... Blasted cork was reason for decant... Full of classic barnyard smells of an old Bord but we'll see about taste around 10:30 tonight.

5:45 2004 Hunt Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Cab 9... Yum! And a glass of Bookers Kentucky Bourbon for my friend.

11:21 1976 D-M proved to be stubborn and the taste more medicinal than mineral... Never opened but maybe tomorrow but I think not. Oh well... Not all puppies are good.

My 17-year old dachshund decided to annoint the floor of my keeping room last night while we were out and upon returning home he looked at me as if to say that my delivery on the floor will taste better than that piss you decanted on the bar... decided not to compare.

Well for you westies I guess it's about 7.40am on Saturday now? Right here it's 3.40pm and I've just kicked off with my first glass. On the downside, we go back to work before you on Monday

Be thankful you don't live in Hawaii.

Good malls in Hawaii, but as I spent 99% of my time there in Feb at arranged receptions and on the resort on Waikiki beach I didn't really get much of a sense of place (I much prefer to see the "real place" when I'm traveling.

I'm just jealous of all you "healthy" people as I've got mild case of pneumonia and can't smell/taste a G-D thing! Been that way for 4 days! I'm going nuts!

Definitely have to get out of Waikiki to see the "real" Hawaii.  Try to get to the island of Kauai sometime.  It's less developed and stunningly beautiful.

2005 Tomas Cusine Costers del Segre Vilosell

Popped and poured a glass on Wed. Skipped yesterday as I had a light dinner and 2 glasses of wine with the wifey.

Back to the Vilosell tonight. Very nice.

Regarding dinner last night, we went to a favorite local place called Sip. Great tapas and wine. Here's the wine by the glass if you're interested.

I had the Girard Zin by recommendation, and I picked the Grgich Hills Fume Blanc for the companion. Both were very nice.

For wines by the bottle, they offer them at a reasonable price for cash and carry, or you can drink there for an upcharge of $10 or $12. You can't byo, though. City ordinance - ugh.

I shared a bottle of Chimney Rock Cab there with a friend from work one night. Pretty reasonable, considering...

About 3 hours and 44 minutes late. An epic battle between me and Photoshop (I lost), an angry client, and terrible traffic means copious amounts of wine (or tequilla) will flow tonight. Since my lunch consisted of a few almonds and 2 tiny Twix bars (leftover Easter candy) I should be in fine shape quickly.

Yay Friday!

Edited to add: 2003 Rocca Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon
