Congrats, Rick!
I look forward to your Victory Tour.
Well, I look forward to your Victory Latour initiation dues anyway!

Hey, have you ever had Kobalt's Cab Sauv Port-style wine?

Brian slipped past 1000 into the Club with a post in the Moratorium, which is why it must have gone unnoticed.

Welcome to our newest MegaMember River Rat!

Thanks Rick. I'm in good company.

1000 tasting notes will take a while longer.
Not so sure I'll ever get to 1000 bottles in my cellar.

I’m at 283 tasting notes so 1000 is far away. Something to aspire to.

I just put up #567 which means I add a tasting note a little more than 50% of the time.

I am ashamed to say that the 1000 bottles has long been passed. But the tasting notes, around 550 I think. So climbing......

With less than 200 tasting notes, I'm much more lackadaisical than many of you. But then again, we only go through 2 or 3 bottles a week on average, many of which we have multiples of. Since I don't like repeating notes on the same wine unless the consumption dates are months apart, that limits me a bit also.

Gentlemen, welcome to the club.

Now, as I’m sure you’re aware, there’s the small matter of the initiation fees, payable to all prior members (sorry, Chris, you should have moved quicker to beat out Rick!)

Indeed!

Plus there is the sacred initiation ritual which is:

Well actually I don’t know. Drink a bottle of wine or something?

2015 La tour de Mons isn't too expensive, and available right around the corner. I was planning to get some anyway.

Funny, but I have an emptybottle of that one in my kitchen right now. Had it this week, and called Costco to see if they still had some (yes), and left bottle out to remind me to go buy several more.

But, um that's not what the Scottster and I had in mind...

I'll have to grab a bottle now. They have it at the winery. I was REALLY Pulling for the Peachtree City Georgia team in the Little League World Series. They did GREAT and should be veru prod of themselves.

Each successful post/tasting note/etc. is worth a thousand points, so either is acceptable (but mega sounds better).

It is almost beyond memory since being on CT. I just had the anniversary pass again and needed a reminder to pay up. I didn’t even know there was a forum for the first 3 years.

Congrats to all who have spent countless hours contributing to the forum. I always wonder for each one of us, is there 1,2,10 that actually read the stuff we post?

Counting how many new posts on trip advice I might think not, but the search feature isn’t super user-friendly or perhaps that just because I know I suck at CT and have stated so on that thread.

Hopefully we have helped a few people out.

Of course the wine buyers/selling thread recently makes me question that once again.

On a serious note we should plan a Club Mega event one of these years. It would be fun meeting those I haven’t already met.

Plus as for Tim’s epic TNs the man spends his life or much of it, drinking new wines in Italy. Tim lives a good life.

Posting as an interloper, but if/when I make it to the club I will happily stand dinner for every other member who can make it at my favourite BYOB (zero corkage) place here in Hong Kong!
