It's that time of the week
I think I will begin by opening a bottle of Dom. Jacob Creme de Cassis and see where it leads...

Thur is also the day Kyser gets dessert after dinner. All are happy at chez S1

This is a new Lieu-Dit to me.
Is it Cote de Beaune or Cote de Nuits?

sounds like a magical spot!
Our differences on Burg don't make either of us a bad person.

One day, I'm sure we'll meet up right at that spot and sing drinking carols in several languages.
It will be a very fine memory

In.

Second bottle.  Notes similar to a few weeks ago.

2002 Nicolas Rossignol Volnay Chevret 1er.  Another really good 2002.  Cork is solid, but wine-streaked from bottom to top.  A little funk upon opening which lingered for a couple of hours.  Let breathe for four hours.  Funk gave way to a smoldering nose of incense, dark cherries, brown sugar and spice.  Silky, creamy entry of red fruits and with the texture, something akin to strawberry short cake.  Some sweet tart too.  It finishes with tongue-coating mineral dust.  Interesting.  I couldn't put it down.  Fine.

Bought for $59.  There is still some on WS for $69.

Happy Burgundy Thursday!

Last night, oops no, the night before now...

2000 Chablis Blanchots Vieilles Vignes, Billaud-Simon
1998 Bonnes-Mares, Freddie Mugnier

Also drank a totally bizarre 1990 Grand Puy Lacoste. Shown blind, everyone at the table thought it was a Pomerol! All plums and fruitcake?
