The number one wine on my "Drinkability Report" is 1997 Maison Roche de Bellene Clos de la Roche Collection Bellenum (because I have 2). And it's Thursday. And I am grilling chicken for dinner at home.

Edit: And.... it was mildly corked.

In the words of the great Dent, Arthur Dent, "this is obviously some strange new meaning of the words 'Thursday' and 'Burgundy' of which I was previously unaware!"

They’re making Burgundy in Washington State now?

We're entering the home stretch of our 18th year of Burgundy Thursday.
Still undefeated!

I’m drinking Chave Hermitage rouge ‘08, but you could pass this off as an excellent mature Burgundy. In fact they had a word in French, Hermitagé, meaning a red Burgundy with a bit of red Hermitage blended in.

The '62 was tired (terrible cork/thank you Durand), but there was still Volnay terroir showing.
All soy sauce, leather, dried rose and cherry.
HRH loved it, which is all that matters, of course.

@ KPB--Chave Hermy is my fave non-Burg red (and it trumps most Burgs for me too!).
