v 3.10.3

This is a small release. I have been working on a number of adminstrative improvements to make my life easier and so I can support you all more effectively.

Today I made some small tweaks to the wine detail pages:
  • You have always been able to add one "per wine' private note of up to 6KB of text. For clarity I pulled this out of the section with valuations and drinkability data and added it to the top of the personal and community tasting notes.
  • The site has long had the notion of a "Wishlist" or more generic "tagged lists" which each user can use to build lists of wines, either for sale or which they want to acquire, or a drinking queue or whatever they want. Oddly enough, if you were on the page for a wine that you had added to one or more of your lists there was no indication that you had tagged this wine. Now there are two things:
    • You now can see whatever tagged lists you have added the wine to and can easily navigate to that list.
    • In the community data now you see which users have tagged a given wine on a public tagged list. (Each user can make lists private or public.) As an example, "bgibbard" has recently been tagging the LCBO Vintages lists, and now you can see that on the wine page. Here is an example wine (scroll down): http://www.cellartracker.com/wine.asp?iWine=394375

Eric, while removing a wine from inventory this morning I noticed that in the "drinking" screen an entry for John Gilman "In the Cellar" in the subscription channels.  The score was there but it said "content withheld".  Is this a new subscription channel not revealed?  I looked in the "manage subscriptions" but it wasn't there.  Just curious.  :)  Sorry if I'm not paying attention...

Nothing ready for primetime, just something I am playing with. Never mind the man behind the curtain...

... it seems that JG has very interesting his own opinion which in several cases completely differs from WS, WA and IWC...but I am not sure whether it has more weight than other reviews here written by CT users and worth these $120/year.

I think John is at his best when writing about Burgundy, the Loire and Germany. Actually I have been surprised by the number of reviews he has on German wines in my cellar--really helpful drinking window advice.

In contrast, his view on the 2000 Beaucastel just does not jibe with my own experience with this wine, and in general and think he and I look for VERY different things in Chateaneauf and Bordeaux. I apparently have a more Parkerized palate. Still, John's writing on Burgundy is amazing.

Anyway, you have 2 weeks to figure it out.
