2011 Mt Brave Cabernet Sauvignon. And it’s drinking very very nicely. Great wine from a tough vintage.

That would make sense. In "good" vintages, that's a VERY bold Cab (try the 2010 if you want to know what I mean), so in "lesser" vintages it's probably very nice.

It was our 3 year wedding anniversary yesterday and we opened

2010 Le Petit Mouton de Mouton Rothschild

My wife had bought that for me on our 1st wedding anniversary.

Frankly we could have drunk it on our 30th wedding anniversary. It was stunning and having had some very good vintages of the Grand Vin de Mouton, I don't know... this is different, yes, but for the money it is tempting!

Today I had a bottle of 1970 Campo Viejo Reserva Rioja with a good friend. I've got a few of these. This had the slightest hint of cork taint, but otherwise incredibly youthful for its age!!

Could someone please tell me what was so "Snarky" about my comment above? I just got a scathing PM from Larry / nmw that called me that, and then went on to rip me for posting. I usually don't share private messages, but this needs to be shown because it's outlandish!

Thank you for your informative, educational and presumptuous response to my post. If not for you and the 12 bottles of 2010 Mt Brave I have already enjoyed, I would have no idea it was so different than the 2011. Believe it or not, there are a few of us who have an elementary smattering of knowledge and experience about a few wines and other topics here and there. Dennis, I usually don’t bother responding. In fact this is a first for me.

I along with other friends now shudder at the thought of going on the boards because we see your comment in a snarky joizey way to anything and everything. In some ways I thank you for keeping me off the boards. And in others, not so sure. Unlike another board where you were run off, I’ll keep my comments private.

On a more positive note, if you could just tone it down, you have so much to offer at least that’s my opinion.

Larry

The most distinguishing feature of this board is its general calm.

The fact we all love one thing and come here to discuss it in such a way that is respectful of each other is a rare thing, and that is why this is the only board i participate in.

I think that is a very strong PM for someone to send and for someone to receive. And I don’t personally think there is a place for it on CT.

Air your grievances in public with real reasoning and/or in a kind/thoughtful/backed-up way but frankly that PM smacks of bullying.

Nmw/Cran, i personally can’t see that post as snarky.

Now go and drink some good wine and untwist your panties

1998 Coche Dury Auxey Duresses Rouge - Brought this back from Nagasaki on a recent trip. Beautiful bottle of old burgundy. Not the most complex wine but has wonderful bouquets and excellent balance. Wow! Such a joy to drink this.

I've met Dennis (cranburgundy).
No doubt he livens up things wherever he goes.
But I don't think that's a bad thing at all.

As to the post in question, I didn't see snark.

Hey Don - what years were the Hourglass and Pahlmeyer? I think I see 2014 on the Pahlmeyer, but not sure.
