What is a "full pull" in this context.

The only full pull I can think of is successfully getting off with every member of a girl band on the same night...

K,

While that is an excellent guess, Full Pull is far more insidious.

It is an internet force that preys upon the weak, ruthlessly exploiting our (yes, I'm one of the weak) Achilles' heels by offering us really good to excellent wines at reasonable to very good prices. Historically, Full Pull has been focused on mostly smaller wineries from Washington and Oregon, but more recently they have expanded their reach to offerings of European wines. Damn Paul is the mastermind behind this operation and its devious plans. As far as I can tell, "Full Pull" really means that he is trying to do a Full Pull on my wallet--extracting every last dollar I have!

A most excellent definition... Although I am still pondering Khamen's take on things. God only knows how Druids think...

I thought the druids were busy running around Stonehenge naked and tying beautiful knots. Maybe I am mixing the druids with the Celtics. I guess we will stick to God Only Knows, and not the Cayuse wine.

Yeah, how is it that this thread doesn't already exist? Thanks for filling in he missing blanks, Brian!

Still trying to rationalize not going in on the Chinon. Never had Chinon but I really should be on moratorium, am waiting on putting through a few other orders, nearly have a second case full and don't want tempt a pregnant wife's wrath of receiving two cases from Paul at the same time as opposed to just one (at 22 right now), am trying to keep orders from Paul above $30/btl to justify the shipping expense and still, I'm pondering the offer.

Also had a hard time passing on the Sauternes. Am wishing I had the money for the colheita. I keep a list of the past offers I want to go back to pursue.

I didn't realize the sauternes were 375ml bottles. I don't know if I would have bitten on it if I had realized that. I just think 375ml bottles are a pain to cellar and risk breakage if I make a false move in the cellar.

I'm not worried about 375 format - I have a bunch of these already and my racks can accommodate 375's nestled in between the 750's.

I've had to purchase many stickies for my wife

I finally joined the cult and ordered from Damn Paul. Now I have to come up with six more bottles before he ships my first six. I am wishing I had joined earlier, I am wishing I had not joined, I am wishing I lived closer so I could pick it up in person, I am wishing I had an unlimited supply of money...

One of the great things about being local to Paul's operation is being able to talk directly with and taste with Paul & Matt. During the past summer, I was out of work and it was an almost weekly event for me. Alas, now I am working again it is much more challenging for me to stop in and see them. Of course now I have more disposable income!

I'm beyond rationalizing, I just started buying.

Out of curiosity, did anyone buy that '38 Kopke Colheita? I'm still thinking about getting a bottle or two, just for the age...

Damn Paul has got me again with this Huet offering. I swear I must be putting his kids through private school....
My only rationalization is he's offering some dang good wines and I can't pass 'em up. Off to the moritorium for me!

I bit on the Huet, too, but only the 2011 Le Mont Sec. Now just have to wait and see if any remain. This could be the beginning of the end ...

Amen! Damn Paul has been killing it lately.

Finally caved on the sec Huet and the Cuvée Terrior Chinon. Just one of each as if I get both, this will complete a case. Plus I'm over budget this month. Kind of hoping he doesn't process these til next week.

The cuvée Constance sounds amazing.

Today's Maison Bleue offers include two wines that are "sold out" at the winery, 2010 Jaja and Graviere, but obviously still available through distribution chain.  I've talked enough here about these wines, and I have about 4 cases pending at the winery, but I grabbed a few more Graviere today.  No rationalization needed other than the wines are phenominal, and still are good value, imo, at these price points.

You make a guy feel good for ordering the Jaja and Graviere already. They're both sitting in my wine fridge at home waiting for their appointment with my cork screw.

My recommendation on the MB 2010's is to leave them alone another year or two.  I've sampled a bottle of each of those over the past few months and they were always better second day.  That's partly why I haven't picked up all that I have pending, which are mostly 2010 reds, because I'd just have to find someplace to store them.  Well that, and Jon Martinez is impossible to catch in Prosser lately except for when he's actually making wine.  I've seen evidence he is there now, but it's the middle of harvest and I'm too busy myself with other stuff to get by there, so my wines can wait until winter or next spring.

I have both of these wines as well. You may think me crazy but I don't know if I have drank any of my full pull wines except some Bookmark from last Fall's shipping. Let the MB sleep. The Jaja and other reds will repay you double dividends. I am going to drink an '06 Fidelitas Syrah this weekend, but other than the Olsen Estate reds and Malbec I have let the good ones age.

I fell hook, line and sinker for 3 bottles each of the Le Midi, Liberte and Jaja Red. I missed the first two when they were previously offered. I was really hoping to get through Friday without another Full Pull order. Didn't happen.
