So, pretty dark then?

Sooooo....basically, they copied and pasted the definition of "opaque".

LOL! - I laughed out loud; cacophonous bursts of air expressed my delight in humor; I thought this was funny.

Yes, enjoyed - it was pleasing to me; I had feelings of happiness and satisfaction; there was a sensation of pleasurable content.

Not atypical of a Clape Cornas, this primary, pissed-off little spider monkey was a spitfire full of tart, constricted, dry, and biting flavors (if "flavors" is even the right word to use here). A few somewhat discernible notes of crunchy cranberry, alcohol, salted meat, and bitter rhubarb. A total saliva sucker, with a rush of heat on the back end.

Not even really worth evaluating for another decade. Hold until North Korea embraces capitalism.>>>>>>>>>>>

This review is from a CT friend of mine who is a great reviewer and my go to guy for New World California Cabs. I was amazed that he even tried a 2014 Clape Cornas. I laughed out loud when I read his review. I left a message for him to try again in 2029 . He said the wine could turn coal into diamond

Yum!

What would they score a wine they didn't like?

When someone hasn't been explained the Parker 100 Point System (with 50 being the lowest probable score) then 78 could indeed be considered a very yummy wine. Just a thought I have...

For perhaps the 1,000th time, today I read a tasting note that said "Consistent with previous notes"; as if the readers are obsessed fans of that reviewer's reviews, and have them all memorized. . I think Eric should create some auto-bot that flames people who post such reviews.

Each review should stand on its own!!!

I do that sometimes....................Sorry . But at least I've left a previous note on the wine. That's much better than these people who give scores to wines and then don't say why they liked it or didn't like it???

If you've had 6 bottles of the same wine you leave a different note on every one? If you have a bottle every couple of months the wine really doesn't change that much. Thanks for the warning and I will go out and buy a flame suit

I've gutted hundreds (well, probably thousands) of pounds of fish, and I can't think of any flavor or aroma descriptor I'd associate with that act, that I'd want in wine.

I think the taster means that the wine is "good with fish" (good for the fish).

I intuited that, as well, but phonetically the sentence works in English, with a contrasting meaning.

C'mon Eddie - who doesn't like a little "fish guts" as a tertiary note? It's part of the charm of Seagull Shores Chardonnay!

I do this a lot, because every now and then I get to taste the same wine many times in a short period of time. I really don't see the point in writing the exact same descriptors, if the wine is performing exactly as it did previously. Especially because I don't write short three-word tasting notes - I find these short TNs as useful as just scores without any TNs at all.

However, I usually write the time when I tasted the wine previously, so anyone who is actually interested can scroll the TN list to that date and see what I've written there. And if the wine is noticeably different from my previous TN, I usually write a completely new TN.

I LOL'd at this one:

2015 Di Costanzo Cabernet Sauvignon Farella Vineyard Coombsville
11/11/2017 - xxxxx LIKES THIS WINE:
Shared with Massimo at his tasting room, from bottle. Outstanding stuff -- the aromatics alone are pretty much worth the price of admission -- elegant and yet expressive, with this hard-to-pin-down anis/sage almost almond-like scent that's really intoxicating. The taste is long and also elegant, with a rising graphite finish reminding me a little bit of Dominus. No score yet, but wow this is a winner. Girlfriend preferred the '14, so she and I are breaking up.
