2000 Gran Clos. Priorat

Gonna have to see how this pairs with my usual Saturday morning fare at Farmer's market.

I have now in my possession the 2005 Chambolle-Musigny.

Thank you, thank you. My SS is unknown (I made sure to blackout the return address on the mailer before I even looked at it). Now I need to play detective ...

I got the 2006 Château Pavie Macquin!

I'm very excited. Even though I didn't post it, I had actually guessed it correctly (because I stalked Santa's Cellar and the retailer it was shipped from). Now the difficulty is figuring out the sender.

Out of town this weekend so I won't post until tomorrow night. I must say I am pretty excited though.

(reposting here since it went on the CTSS thread befor this thread got started)

Rip, shred, tear!

What the . . . .?

Another box in side the box? Santa is being rather evil.

Tear, shred, rip redux.

Jinkies! Santa is being kind this year. Two, count'em, two bottles.

2005 Glaetzer Shiraz The Bishop Shiraz
2010 Maryhill Viognier

Already planning Lamb Chops with the Glaetzer for Christmas Eve.

Thanks, Santa!

I am going to go out on a risky limb and declare Hollowine as my Santa based on 1) Ship-from location 2) TN from Hollowine and 3) the Maryhill

Edit to add: And neither one is in Santa's Cellar so I was totally surprised (in a good way).

No. No you are not.

You should forward that to those who DO deserve it.

2006 Bouchard Meursault Genevrieres... Whoa! I have had the 2004 a number of times, but only a taste... who doesn't love a solid white Burg from a great year?

CT Santa is generous indeed! Now, to think of who may have bought this gem?

Also, GO DAWGS!

Oh what joy and excitement... it's the Chambolle-Musigny!!!!

No, only kidding... it's another Burgundy which I'm sure will be even better!

My SS has contributed to My Burgundy Project with a wonderful bottle of 2009 Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay!

Thank you SS, whoever you are. I will look for advice on the proper opening window.

Be back later to search out my SS. Off to the football game. GO WOLFPACK!!!

2004 Poggio il Castellare Brunello di Montalcino!!
Its a wonderful find!  I'm grateful to my SS for this bottle and for the work behind the decision!!  Great Job!!!
I do know who my SS is, I'd  like to say it's because I'm really clever and intuitive, but there's a black and white clue that lead me to the realization of who she is!  I won't disclose it until I read this little mysterious letter enclosed in the box with the bottle, however!

I am thrilled with my 2005 Chateau Saint Pierre. In viewing the CT Santa's cellar I was really hoping that a Bordeaux or Burgundy with some age on it was headed my way. This is also my first classified growth, so again I'm just thrilled! Oh, and then my SS ( who revealed himself in a kind letter also included a bottle of a local (NJ) wine, a 2009 Heritage Signature Estate Reserve BDX.

Thank you Peter! Cheers!

So it all started for me with this exchange...

Thinking of spreading the gospel of WA syrah

Given the extent to which all of us on this forum have sold our souls to Damn Paul, this idea has about as much risk in it as taking a shot at the broad side of a barn from 10 feet away.

Now, I'm not saying that's a bad idea. I'll be very happy if somebody would like to send me a Cayuse...

quote:

ORIGINAL: jrockman

Very true, but my assignment has yet to discover what us FP subscribers already know!

I thought that only applied to the liked of pjanes and Khamen and even then, their lack of knowledge is only a first-hand deficiency.

If this person exists on this forum, they definitely know who their SS is now.

While I don't *really* think I'm the only one on the forum who hasn't yet fallen victim to [Damn] Paul, this certainly got my attention.

Then, this happened...

quote:

ORIGINAL: grayfont

Upon return to my office today after a week of business travel, I found on my desk a single shipper with a VERY attractive return address. Because there is (so far!) only one wine in CT Santa's cellar that matches said return address, and because it's the bottle that every one of you wants (even the 12 of you who already have one surely want another) I'm not going to spoil all of your dreams by telling you I'm the one who got it...

Of course I won't actually open the box until reveal day. So if someone is playing an elaborate trick on me (bogus return address, bogus wine in CT Santa Cellar, etc), then you definitely got me

Thank you Secret Santa!!!!!

All of which should have made very clear to each of you that my box came from
RASA VINEYARDS LLC
4122 POWERLINE ROAD
WALLA WALLA WA 99362

Seeing the QED 2008 as the only RASA in Santa's cellar, I've been hoping and praying these past few weeks that no one is playing a cruel joke on me. Sure enough, that's what was in my box - - and I am thrilled!!!

Thank very much, Secret Santa...

And while at least 12 of you have this wine in your cellars at the moment, I'm going with the instinct I had way back before I even received my box and saw the return address... I'm guessing jrockman as my Secret Santa. Confirm/Deny?

Thanks to all for another awesome CT SS wine experience. Great fun!

Gray

I'd think the opening window should've started...

I must have been a very very good boy

2008 Figgins Walla Walla Valley

I think I tried the 09 version of this wine at Taste Washington, and it is DELICIOUS.  I will have to think long and hard about when and how to open this, but for now, my deepest thanks to my Secret Santa!

Box came from California, but inside paper wrap tell me this came from AmazingGrapes.com.  This could be anyone...  sleuthing begins...

THANK YOU SANTA!!!

I was blessed with an 09 hansell sonoma valley Pinot and an 04 clos galena priorat. Neither of which I would have guessed and neither of them have I ever had, so this is a wonderful treat

It sounds amazing!

(ohmigosh I am wound up)

I'm not sure who it's from - manager 2 from Premier Shipping....
But I'm going to guess it's from S1, because he has it in his cellar.

My Secret Santa was amazingly generous -- THREE bottles of wine --

1. Darioush Duel 2007 Cab-Syrah Blend
2. Castleman Cellars 2009 Legacy
3. Castleman Cellars 2009 Traditions

So that's a big clue to his identity -- as was the name on the return address :) - so THANK YOU YoDaddyO - definitely above and beyond the call of duty!!!
