Mrs.CiH says she is interested, but I just don't think she will know her real schedule until after graduation in May. I am always good solo.

Me: so Scott has set the dates for Charleston II next September.

Dr. M: (eye brows raised... Not a good sign)

Me: oh yes, and by the way, he's assigned me to vet the WA wines for the afternoon tasting.

Dr. M: I'm not sure we need to do that crazy weekend again... There was so much drinking! (so what's your point?)

Me: but remember how much fun we had getting to know each other, shopping and also eating at those nice restaurants?

Dr. M: well, I don't know... I'll need to look at my work calendar to see if I can take the time off. (so look at it... It's right on your lap! Why do you think I decided to bring this up at this time!)

Me: well I have a guest speaker scheduled for Thursday night but not sure I need to be there and there will be the Burgundy Thursday dinner at S1's house?

Dr. M: I liked his wife. She was nice.... (progress?)

Me: and the other spouses that you met while we were comparing careful tasting notes in the afternoon sun will be the too! (Jeez! This is harder than I thought!)

Dr. M: we'll see... Lets talk about it later.

I feel like Ralphie trying to soften up his mother and the Old Man. She's a toughie! But I am persistent and Ralphie did indeed get the Red Ryder gun!

But only because Dad had one when he was 8 years old. Mom only relented AFTER it was a done deal and to avoid a(nother) fight with Dad (recall the who Major Award kerfluffle).

I have already sent drycab an email asking if one of my selections is acceptable. We have to get started early in the south as S1 said. I guess musedir will be next.

I didn't even go this year and I'm already excited about this next one. Of course, my wife hasn't even acknowledged the email I sent her with all the information in it...that probably needs to soak in before we talk about it

I have plenty of CA Cult Cab (Schrader, Scarecrow, small amounts of a couple others) for session I, but I'm at a loss for Session II...fairly clueless on Italian wines, so it will be a nice education! For session III, Quilceda is probably my only top tier WA wine, maybe Grand Reve/FM too, but I could bring a Mag of either. And for session IV, I was thinking a SQN or Saxum or something along those lines sounded good...if that's acceptable of course

I'm game to tag team any wines with anyone, just peruse my cellar and let me know.

I have one bottle of '04 Bond Vecina if somebody has a 2nd. I am good for x2 champers as I have been aging a Krug magnum or I also have a '96 Henriot magnum. I got Bdms coming out my cellar door, but only Barberesco in x2, just singles for Barolo. I think I may be to awnry for any vetting process.

No stones coming from here! People certainly can and do have different definitions of what's Collectible or not, but I think for an event like this there needs to be some kind of baseline. Listing the wines that are under discussion, as you've done, is probably the best way to make the Collectible intent clear. Once wines are decided on, those could be posted as 'confirmed' or something...

As previously mentioned, I'm sold on doing something like SQN or Saxum for Session IV, so if anyone wants to tag team on anything like that, let me know. Top tier CdP has also crossed my mind for that session...so many decisions!

And I just had 'the talk' with my wife...explained the Sessions, got her to peruse the Inns website, and she approves I'll book a room soon!

Just saw this. Put us down to attend! I have not talked to the wife yet, but I suspect it will be far less agonizing than Tom's protracted diplomacy. And far easier than wine selections...

We're planning on making a trip soon to Chambers Street wine for the Burg now that we've confirmed flight in on Thursday afternoon... Happy to take suggestions from the broader group as I think it's fair to say we are completely clueless in that arena....
