This series of posts is the continuing saga of a father helping his on and daughter-in-law realize their dream of starting a winery (www.MaisonHarbour.com) in Burgundy, France. If you didn’t catch my first post please search on “Summer Adventure in Burgundy”. The grapes started to flower on June 19th. This means the vendange (harvest) is 100 days away or about September 28th. There was a big storm the night of June 19th with 2.5 cm of rain and big winds. While the potential for damage was high the vines came through relatively unscathed. However, now it is all about getting some dry weather to have the flowers set properly. With 100 days to the vendange we have a lot of work to get the cuverie (winery) ready in time. I went to ACE Hardware yesterday and stocked up on some personal safety items for the restoration work, which I will take with me. Of course, it won’t be all work this summer. There’s alway enough time for the Tour de France. This year is the 100th edition! I know cycling is right up there with Professional Wrestling these days. But my heart still believes even though my brain knows better. Yes that’s me. In the photo bottom left you can see my Picnic table. With a great lunch and a nice bottle of Burgundy there is no better way to spend the day. This was 2012 stage 9 ITT from Arc-et-Senans to Besançon.
