Picking up a couple bottles tomorrow, for dining with Dontime and his wife. That's my whole pending deal.

Now at 22 pending with just Maison Bleue to go for the fall releases. This college tuition stuff is putting a serious dent in my pending list.

Back up to 149, and that's with almost no purchasing in July and August...

Getting larger. Needs to stop. I am up past 40 bottles and no room. I am contemplating some cellar tetris. Relocating USA wine by category rather than region. Burgundy is totally grown out of control as has Bdx Blends from the USA. I am thinking of putting WA Syrah with the Rhone wines, and grouping domestic Bordeaux blends. I guess I'll figure this all out tomorrow.

I use that arrangement. All BDux, cab and cab blends racked together.
All Rhones and Syrah/Grenache and Rhone blends together.
All Burgundy, Pinot Noir and Chard together.
Zin by its' little self, ditto Riesling and the other whites.
Seperate bin for exaples of the above that are instagrabs, for everyday or b/c they are close to the end.

took delivery of 11, but bought 12 today on a great email offer.  6 for CT and 6 cellar defenders, so I'm only at 89 pending.   My first stay on The Moratorium lasted 13 days.  Time for my 2nd stay over there.

I so believe you will fill your cellar quickly at this pace. I should head over to your house and make some space......

Ryan,

That is the intent. However, not sure Katrina is fully aware. As always she says..."I don't want to know how much you spend on wine" So I try very hard to honor that statement.

I have it down to 133 from 200 a month ago. It looks like I have 70 bottles shipping this fall and the rest is longer term (CT Barrel Projects, Reynvaan futures, etc).

Now I just need to figure out where I'm going to hold the bottles that are coming this fall. I already have cases stacked in our guest bedroom.

I've been know to consider guest rooms as an extension of my cellar, sorta putting a splash of good living in a domestic environment. Of course it requires some measure of sensitivity on the hosts' part, such as shawls and throws on the couch... The shuttered windows provide mood lighting as well. So, as you can clearly see, wines go well with guests (as long as corkscrews and rabbits are confiscated at check-in).

I have room(s) that have become an extension of someone's pending list.  Next time he visits he and his lovely bride can have the "Pending Suite".

Dunno... What kind of rating does this said Pending Room have with Trip Advisor?

I know some folks who if they were the guest would certainly help in dropping the 'pending count'. Lots of shipments this week so expecting number to start falling dramatically.... already scheduled first offsite pick-up of the season....

I live in a condo so space is limited. Consequently, our wine fridge is in the guest bedroom so they really are the same thing.

Only about four cases. Unfortunately, that will put me near capacity. If I get weak and buy too much I'll have to try to convince my wife that a new wine cabinet is more important than bedroom cabinets.
