Another reason I hope the Univ of Missouri has their post season bowl game in Orlando (Capital One)!

A balmy 13°F (-10.6°C).

Almost tanning weather.

Anne,

will let you know once we finalize bowl game location and visit schedule to see if an offline is possible. My sister lives in Orlando.........but is not much of a wine drinker.

27F. That will be the high for today. Ice everywhere. We lost power yet again. I am not sitting in a freezing cold house again so we loaded up and fishtailed over to my in-laws house. Roads are nasty. I'd try to change lanes and the ruts were so high they would just push me back into my lane.

Chicago has avoided the freezing rain & snow, and because of the heavy cloudcover we are also avoiding the initially predicted low temperatures. It is rather gloomy though....

Cold and rainy here but no ice or snow. Around 40, where it will hover for most of the weekend.

"Big" storms in England last night (I used the speech marks to highlight the pathetic and feeble efforts of England to reach US East Coast proportions of what bad weather looks like)

A boat apparently got pushed a little bit up a beach and a bloke's house collapsed into the sea while he was having a cup of tea. And I think my Gran's windows rattled a little bit. It was a tiny bit chilly in London and our garden furniture fell over.

All of which, I believe, is an excuse to crack open a Chateauneuf du Pape or maybe a big strapping red from Argentina

24 degrees and snowing here.

Last night was a holy mess on the roads (sleet and then snow), everyone forgot how to drive and behaved like morons. This morning the interstate was spotless (the side roads not so much) so getting to the office was a piece of cake. I guess a lot of the previously mentioned idiots stayed home!

But the snow falling now will probably stick again and we'll have another 1 1/2 hour drive home.

I think a CdP will be on the menu too, I'll think about food later.

We've got Cookie's weather from last night. Nasty out, and mrs. dontime is attending the "Ladies' Holiday Party" tonight. I'll be home worrying until she returns safely.
Canceled our trip to Columbus (OH) tomorrow. We'll try again after Christmas.

Very cold and literally frozen in time. But I did make the most of the neighborhood coated with ice...I ice skated on the streets, very fun.

-10F right now, and what does the dog do? After an hour outside he looks at me, tilts his head when i call him and then lays down, in the snow, as if to say "yeah, whatever, come get me"

Had a Samoyed that would not come in the house if it was snowing....just laid down outside and waited until it was covered in snow. You could barely see the white on white!

5°F this morning and several of us from the running group are meeting for a run today. Was thinking this might be a good time to merge the "If I die today" thread with this one...

One good thing about the cold (yes 40F is cold for SoCal) it makes for a nice evening with a fire, a good rhone blend and CSN on the stereo.

20F? Pah! I laugh at your 20F

Parts of my kitchen were -79C (that's -109F to you guys in the US) this afternoon.

Welll ok, only a small bit. I blasted out some dry ice from the CO2 extinguisher and used it to insta-freeze what is quite possibly the finest vanilla cinnamon ice cream I have ever made. Also amazingly good fun to get all that dry ice "smoke" pouring out of the mixer when the ice hits! If you want to impress at a dinner party use this stuff to make the ice cream in front of your guests in less than a minute. Just make sure it's all dissolved before anyone eats it...

Thanks Heston, I'm a convert!

K
