Often thought it would be nice to say Hi! to whoevers on the Forum when I sign in, but didn't want to open a thread each time.
So here's a thread just to say Hi
NoCapacity, Serge Birbrair, Pontac, annerk, NiklasW
There's enough of us to play ball.
Who's on first?

Hi Colonel! You should've joined us yesterday for the skype chat, even if you didn't have any of the designated wines! I didn't have any of them the first time, but was along for the ride and enjoyed it.

Good morning back to you CL!  I'm having a lazy Sunday morning, I've got some freelance work lined up for this evening that's going to take some energy--and unfortunately there is no wine involved...

Hello Serge, I see you're on as well.

Greetings all. Sunday morning a little slow after a little too much wine last night. One of which was a '90 St Emilion. Perhaps a bit past its absolute prime, but absolutely seamless. No edges whatsoever. Wines like this one make me realize why I enjoy Bordeaux, particularly aged Bordeuax, so much.

Sadly Skype is an issue as well as getting the wines - banned in the UAE.
Hopefully a tasting will coincide with my UK visits.

HI Col.

Back at you.
On for a final evening stint.
Can concentrate on CT as I don't have to watch stock markets collapsing in NY (it's a Sunday).

Hi Serge,
Sad that a lot of comedians don't have great humorous personal lives.
Rather sad, a lot of them.

Hi Anne,
I'm having an abstemious day as well - just trying to stay healthy enough to live a long life and consume all my wine.
Something incongruous there?
Being a drinker Serge assures me I'll live longer than people from Utah.

Hi Brian, I just figured out the purpose of this thread.  I've just been lamenting on the Virtual thread about the pain of packing up and disassembling a wine cellar for a move.  Not something I EVER want to do again.

Morning/evening chaps.

I am just trying to remain focussed on not falling asleep.  It is cold, raining and Monday.  I fancy a nice glass of burgundy in a rustic French restaurant without any work to spoil the mood.

Hi Paul,
Would that I could join you for that glass of Burgundy. It's 2 pm here and dark as hell. Where is that "strange light phenomenon"???

Hi there Chaps.

You can always count on us when all others have fled, especially if a drop of tipple is on offer.
I suspect that's how we kept the Empire together so long.

Tonight I have worked out a way I can healthily drink more red wine with my steak and chips.
Just bought a Tefal chip maker that makes 2 Kilo of chips with just a spoonful of oil!
Admitedly it's a big spoon, but it's not the normal 1+ litre.
I work out that saves me at least 1/2 bottles worth of calories :)
Tell you tomorrow if the machine actually works.

I stand behind my assurances. To those who doubt them - I sell insurance. $100 a month will GUARANTEE you the seat next to God in Heaven. I have a few religious guys on my board and enjoy brisk sales.

I knew we could rely on good old Niklas to join in (I think he should be called St Nick from now, if that's not too basphemous for CT).   Guess it's pretty miserable in the frozen North.
We're having rather good weather in the desert, although man-made problems do crop up:
Yesterday they decided to drop an enormous crane (one of the thousands we have) - which was working on our worldclass driverless metro - from a great height across our main highway - The Sheik Zayed.
Needless to say no one went very far yesterday.

Interesting anecdote:
When soon-to-be-ex President Bush the second, visited us they shut all the schools, companies and banned everyone from using the roads.
Bush thought we had a perfect transport system!
Amazing what you can achieve in a dictatorship (albeit benevolent).

Poor Niklas - I can't imagine how long those winters are up there.

Although to be honest, it has not stopped raining for about 30 days here in London - it is 13:00 and getting dark.

I don't care about the seat.  It's being lumped in with "religious" guys that I protest.

Good morning/afternoon/evening(?):J2K, RoundersRob, pbm, pjaines, NiklasW

Another lovely day at the job  ... only 9 more hours until Monday Night (American) Football begins!  and i have many of tonight's players on my fantasy football squads, so tonight's game will be rather interesting.

Hope all is well with the rest of you and your loved ones today.

Cheers,
Brian
