We often talk about more expensive bottles, so I figured I'd start a discussion about good but less expensive bottles for those of us who need to stay in that range for a "daily drinker."

The best one I've had in that price range in a long time was this:

2006 W. B. Bridgman Cellars Merlot Yakima Valley

If I hadn't known as I was drinking it, I would have guessed that it was in the $40-50 range.  It was well-balanced with smooth tannins, something I don't often find in less expensive bottles.  It reminded me of Quintessa in a lot of ways.  I liked this one enough that I'll be buying it buy the case. I paid $13.99 at Total Wine.

CC Two Vines Red Blend 2005

Let it breath for an hour and it opens up to a wonderful, sit by the fire and watch a football game while perusing CT wine. $7

2004 St Clement Merlot - If I had more space I would buy three more cases of this.  Outperforms many wine 2-3 its price.

Thanks to Maestro.

The 05 was awesome as well.

This is my pick...2005 Louis Chavy Bourgogne.  A very enjoyable Burgundy for only $10!!  Insane.

Mine would have to be 2006 Tommasi Poggio al Tufo Vigneto Rompicollo, which I recently discovered thanks to CT!

Yesterday, I had
2006 Argiolas Vermentino di Sardegna Costamolino -- as always, delicious, particularly with shellfish - scallops were the choice last night.http://www.cellartracker.com/wine.asp?iWine=365590
Also, although it was only a half bottle (and sort of seems like cheating, but these types of wines are often served in half bottles) the Buller & Sons Muscat, heaven in a glass

Good to know about this stuff.  I just saw it at Costco today.  Sounds like it's a gem for the price.

haha...woops.  The Muscat.  At least I think it was it.  I remember seeing the label and as soon as I saw your posting the producer "Buller and Sons" keyed something in my brain.  I looked at it and saw the price, thinking there's no way that could be good for so cheap, and moved on.

It was a Costco in Tustin, CA

If you like dessert wines, this is a killer -- not in the Sauternes style (not too much acid), but deliciouly rich.

Had some of this not too long ago as well, and I actually enjoyed this more so than I did the Amarone that goes for 3-4x's more.

I've found 2005 Château Pesquié Côtes du Ventoux Terrasses to really hit the spot lately.

Reading through my previous notes I realized I just had the 2006 of this wine and enjoyed it.

Thanks for the reminder!

Looking at how many of these "under $15" wines I have had, I can't decide if this means that I am really cheap, or if it shows that I have a knack for finding quality wines for reasonable prices.  God I hope it's the latter.

We used this wine for a wedding in October, bought it in May for about $9.50 per bottle, everyone loved it, went through about six cases, still have two in the cellar

2005 Château Mont-Redon Côtes du Rhône Abeille-Fabre

Argentine Malbecs are a great bargain.  I had a 2007 Pascual Toso, that cost $9.  It was very nice, completely without buyer's remorse.

Jeremy, It looks like the '05 was also a good wine. I acquired the '07 with some other everyday wines from the guy who represents Delas in my community. After going on about the wine his final words were RP 90 points - so why not, especially at that price. Several weeks after that I received an email from K&L pushing the same wine (coincidence, or, go with what's selling) which prompted my to open it that night. Fun wine for the price.
