ORIGINAL: fingers Having The Dalmore 18 year tonight and it is quite spectacular. Not cheap, but worth it I did a Dalmore seminar last week and found I really like Highlamd Scotch. We had the 12, 15, 18 year and the Cigar malt , which I ended up buying. It was half the price of the Alexander III. Pretty tasty stuff I also went back and bought some Macallan 12 year as it is their bourbon then Sherry style rather than their oak series 10 and 15 year bottles. It’s anazing what a bottle of 18 year old Macallan costs. The 18 year old Dalmore cost $229US, that night and they sold out. The Dalmore had a very beautiful younger Single Malt specialist that was both entertaining and informative. I have shyed away from Scotch as I am not a peat smell fan, so Islay and Campbelltown styles really turn me off. Blended styles still have some of that peaty smoke, so it wasn’t my thing. I like Irish and aged Rum. Now I find another expensive dragon to chase... We also drank from The Falmore’s CCC stems and I loved it. I went home and retried my whisky glass using some Irish and decided I liked a regular low “rocks” glass, not that I would ever drink whisky any other way but neat.
