Just got the ordering window email from Cayuse. Leaving the moratorium August 23rd.

Decided to pass on the QC fall allocation, a big deal for me as they are the largest holding in my cellar. I think their CVR is a great value, but have enough for now.

Fingers crossed that I get on the list this year (year 7).

Got the bad email from Saxum. No soup for me. The wait time is listed as six years, up from the 2016 4-6 year wait note. I have been on the list for 5 years, 5 months and 18 days, so 2018 for me (I hope).

Well I passed so you'll probably move up at least one spot.

Do you guys buy these at auction, and drink them, just to actually be sure that you like the wines? It would be sad to wait six years, then hate them...

I also got the "No Saxum for you" email yesterday. I just kind of blew it off as since signing up I have found they are a bit too big of a wine for what I like. Most likely when i get my first order, I may pass or it may be small.

Got the same from Saxum. I was really more upset that I got zero allocation for the Rhys Hillsides after being on their list for a few years. I'm probably done with Rhys, not sure.

Kevin addressed this on WB.
He expects most wishlists to be granted, but wanted to avoid the 2 hour sellout like last year.

I did wish for a bit of Rhys. It's the sort of wish where you would be OK if it was granted, but somewhat relieved if it was not.

You don't need to order any....you just need to hang with someone who did.

There are plenty of other great Paso Robles wines that are just as good as Saxum. Have you ever drank any Saxum wines? I wouldn't get too caught up in Parker scores. Case in point is Linne Calodo. I've tried so many of their wines and honestly don't get the hype. They are seriously that syrupy, over ripe Paso style that I just don't like. To me Saxum is overrated and not worth the secondary market premium. IMHO I can name 10 plus wineries that make just as good of wine as Saxum. Seriously.

Progeny's Fall release of their new 2013 Mt. Veeder Reserve is live as of this afternoon. $125 per 750ml for their second label bottling.

Also, a "save the date" for MacDonald's 2014 Oakville (To-Kalon) - Tuesday 9/19! A whopping (by Alex & Graeme's standards) 345 cases were produced.... which I believe is their largest amount to date. No word on cost per bottle or maximum allocation size.

Oh, duh - now I get the reference.

Anyway, MacDonald allocations are to remain the same at 3 bottles, and the price is now up to $165 per 750ml.
