Five years ago we built our wine room to hold a maximum of 1,500 bottles and today I just logged in bottle number 1,800.

Maybe time to start drinking down that number??? 🤔

Moved to Portland, Oregon, and combined the Portland and San Francisco collection into a nice 6' x 8' locker at Willamette Wine Storage (WWS) with just over 1600 capacity and thought cool! plenty of room to grow, I am all set.

That was Jan 2022, and then I found FLOR wines, and got a second locker at WWS "just for my OWC's" right.

Just crossed 2000 in the cellar and am moving into a 12' x 8' locker in the New Year.

I dicovered that I liked a few of the de Negoce wines, and went a bit uh, uncontrolled during the recent BF and year end case sales. Daily arrival of boxes have stacked up with 5-6 more cases due in the next week.

One consequence is that my Total bottles entered into CT since December, 2009 has now topped 5,000. Still far behind many.

Congrats!(?)

I'm 18 bottles behind you; I should be crossing the 3000 mark before winter is over....

That went fast. BerserkerDay and auctions moved me right along, but it was a singleton of 2020 Château Cantenac Brown from CostCo that got me to 3000.

Did an inventory at the end of the year to confirm the numbers, and the bottles added this week pushed me over 1000.
From 1985 through 2011 I maintained the cellar between 120-200 bottles. Then I joined Cellar Tracker.
You all are a bad influence.

Same here. Pretty much maintained a cellar of 300-350 until I retired and moved to Colorado. It’s more than doubled in the last 5 years and the cellar is now over 800.

Also, my last purchase put me over 3,000 bottles purchased. But that’s only since 2011 when I joined CT.

CT confirmed a problem. I joined right when I started drinking wine, and hit 1000 bottles in less than 5 years.

Joined CT with 317 bottles on December 21, 2009.

Cellar grew to 1000 bottles on April 14, 2012. 29 months later.

Have purchased 6450 bottles documented through CT. Many more prior to CT; at least 1000 more.

Just returned to > 2000 bottles in the cellar today - 2063. (capacity 2450)

A friend invited us to a harbor cruise so I removed 3 bottles which pushed me to 3,001 Consumed! Been using CT since end of 2011.
Yea I know, don't look at the value consumed!

I don’t know if it’s a milestone or not but with my recent Piemonte purchases Italy has moved into second place at 15.4% of my cellar ahead of US at 14.3% and Spain at 10.5%. Nobody is going to catch France at 60%. I expect Spain to pass the US by the EOY. I love Rioja & Priorat at low prices comparison to US prices but everyone knows that.

Not sure if this counts as a milestone, but I currently have 1,099 bottles in my cellar. Is this a cosmic sign that I need to deal with filing my taxes???

Hadn't checked this in a while, but it looks like I'm right in line with a few of you... I passed 3000 bottles purchased (since 2009) early last year, and I'm <20 bottles from 3,000 consumed. I'll put a dent in that this coming week (birthday week plus Easter week), so I'm sure we'll get there in April.

Most definitely! My 'Wines in My Cellar' is at a nice, round number of 1,400.

Maybe this should go in "I suck at CT", but I just finished my springtime Tetris exercise reorganizing bottles among 4 offsite lockers plus 3 Locations in my home and had to log 6 bottles as 'Missing'. Now down to 1,394 bottles.

Your storage situation sounds a bit like mine except that half of my wine is in another state (which is a PITA). If I did a reconciliation once or twice a year and was off by less than 10-15 bottles I would consider that a victory. As it stands I Suck At Cellartracker!
