I'm in a high confidence situation as well. Wasn't sure if it would be appropriate to share that, but seems to be OK given the above chatter.

The Elf sent me a PM about the shipment to me, with the tracking number. Of course I looked it up to figure out the ETA, noting that signature was required. Important info, for sure. But there was a name: first initial and last name, as well as an origination point.

Someone on the SS list has a username with the same last name, but different first initial, but from basically the same city as the origin of my package.

Regarding cross-referencing wines in Santa's cellar, the suspect's cellar is not open - Darn! But - I can see their tasting notes and there is a direct hit for an '07 vintage wine in the cellar. So, I have a pretty good lead.

Fun to poke around and sleuth, either before or after reveal day, I suppose. I don't want to ruin anyone's fun, so wasn't planning to share all this until I read the posts from today. Also - in my defense, I didn't 'plan' to start snooping, but I couldn't help it when I saw a name on the tracking page.

What's in a name?

Our bottle has now been regulated to the kitchen where it has less opportunity to taunt us (it's the room we spend the least amount of time in in the apt).

I secretly told 1/2 the SS crew to use the name Jack667 of Milton, Ga. as the return address.

You were supposed to include the first two cards with your gift, then we'll do the flop on Reveal Day. Didn't Chris include that in the instructions this time?

The last time I was in the cellar, my package started mouthing off. I went upstairs, grabbed a calendar, and came back down to the cellar. While pointing at December 11th, I growled "your days are numbered!" which shut it up immediately.

When faced with taunting I threatened to call this thing's father/mother.

It then reminded me I don't know them... which lead me to the dark reaches of Google Maps, White Pages, CT and Zillow. No definitive answers, so I may have to resort to the calendar as well.

I confess! It was HAL who did the crime... put Malcom in the Comfy Chair, but first punch him with pillows to get his attention.

After finishing the shoveling, I've opened up a fine tawny, now to remember that it's Port and that I shouldn't finish the bottle off in one night.

***BEGIN MESSAGE:***

Uhh... Hello, is this thing on?

Hey everyone! Greetings from Istanbul! I am on layover before my flight back later today, and since I am back in the world of wifi I thought I'd check in. I enjoyed catching up on the various SS banter over the past week and am rubbing my hands in anticipation of Reveal Day tomorrow.

Just a quick note on this: I should be able to start my group's Reveal thread on time tomorrow, but will then be on the road for a good chunk of the afternoon on my final leg back to Boston lands. So I won't be able to update the list until later in the day. I have complete faith that you'll all be able to get yourselves into a satisfactory amount of trouble during that time.

Thanks and talk to you all soon. Get those package-opening muscles stretched!

- Chris

Clearly our head elf has been taking the waters in Casablanca, sipping champagne cocktails and nibbling on can of peas, such as cheez wiz on a ritz. But enough about him... it's 29 hours and counting. You're welcome.
