Thank you Freelon for putting up such a nice wine. If you're lucky I'll drink it with you ;)

First, sorry I wasn’t more active on this forum, just had a lot going on this football season.

Second, this has to be the most improbable fantasy seasons I’ve played. It’s hard to believe that I won 3 games by a grand total of 5 points. Talk about the underdog, Cinderella, long shot, dark horse or as my season story clearly illustrated – overachiever…. But as they say, that’s why we play the game! Thanks all, it’s been a fun season, I'm already looking forward to the 2018 draft!

As for my first two picks, I’ll select mc2wines and Seriously2.

Picks 9 and 10 I'm ceding to our commissioners mc2 and MYE, in that order. This is a token of appreciation on behalf of all of us for the work they put in to make the season happen. Thank you!

Just catching up now.. Wow.. gracious as always sir. That's very kind indeed! Thank you!

Yahhh kinda lame. But numerous pms unanswered :( I was worried if he was ok personally. But since he’s posted on ct for other threads I’m hoping it’s not anything major personally. Ah well, it’s just wine.. :)

Also, a question, since this is my first time playing. Do I now have to PM each person my mailing address? I'm assuming I'll see you soon, Mark, so you won't have to ship yours. :)

To those picking, apologies from me! When I initially offered my wine I inadvertently typed the "2013" that you see above when I meant to type "2012". Weird that in that same original post I had included a link to the 2012 FM Syrah. My plan was to allow someone to start a '12 & '13 FM Syrah vertical if they also picked Rwik_2000's 2013 FM Syrah.

Sorry, we won't let you get away with that. It is well known that the 2013 Force Majeure was declared as the world's best wine, ever. Made from vines in a 10 foot square plot of land in the Himalayas, each grape lovingly crushed between the thumb and forefinger of the vintner. The yield was 3 bottles.

The 2012 Force Majeure is meh.

Love your sense of humor...had me LOL-ing! However, your comment piqued my curiosity so I looked at the CT ave scores and the '13 from their Himalayan plot is 91.7, while the lowly Red Mountain one is 93.2. Clearly, some U.S. bias showing up!

CVG is a CT user who drops in only to play FF. He's in Texas, and reliably sends out his bottles in a timely fashion; the one he sent me seemed like solid storage/provenance. He's been around for the league for a long time and is a totally solid citizen, and very good at FF too.

I'll bet he doesn't know that we altered the pay out a few years back to give a 4th place bottle (I think)?

Basically unrelated, I'd argue that when we field requests for new adds to the FF league, we ought not assign those first come first serve but rather hold a field of users and rank them by forum posts at the time of application (flexible to admin oversight/discretion). CVG is, as I said, totally solid and fun to compete with, but if we continue to add people who aren't nearly never on the forum, and if those people stick around, eventually we end up a disconnected league, less fun than when we all know a little bit about one another.

I agree with your take, Hank. It is much more fun when more people participate in the forum. I wish that Yahoo allowed for smack talk during the games. That adds another layer of fun interaction.

Your suggestion makes sense, but the devil is in the details. I suggest that whatever we do, we make the rules for joining very clear and unambiguous.

I think CVG is rwik_2000.. but i'll like mc2wine confirm.. maybe send him a PM to tell him he can draft some bottles here? :)

I also agree that it's fun to play with folks we interact a bit with on the forum.
I think 13-14 of the 16 spots go to repeat players.. we generally let players sign back on each year unless they don't deliver on the bottle of course.
so just 2-3 new players each year.. we can discuss how to include them next year? i think first criteria is if they've played with us before.. someone like ranman i think played before, took a year or two off for example..

anyhow, rwik, then mc2 on the clock!

rwilk_2000 aka Cerano Voodo Gods here. Sorry for the delay, I am on vacation and haven't been checking in. I think I am one of the few remaining founders on CT FF's inaugural season. Good competition this year with lots of balance.

With my first pick, I will take Rockin Cabs Rivers Marie Summa Old Vines.

Thanks

Ryan

That complicates things! I had the single bottle shipper ready to go for your choice I still owe you from last year, but now I gotta find a two bottle shipper. Hmmm

Was up in Maine this week, it was amazingly cold, -15 (without windchill) in the early mornings. Lost power last night and just got back to NY on an eight hour drive. My apologies for the delay, next picks are:

ern1 - 2011 Torrin "Banshee"
atkinson_b2 - 2009 Leroy Bourgogne
