I think few dishes pair as well with big red wines as Cassoulet.
I happen to have a bottle open of the 2015 Domaine Durand Cornas Confidence and it would be a perfect match right now (the wine is in a style that really is best young, I think). It has that rich palate you sometimes get, almost mouth-coating and "thick", just delicious, and would be assertive enough to make a nice pairing.
Your other option is probably along the lines suggested above: a hefty cabernet from Bordeaux, or Napa. But not a light, elegant one...
