flying from Chicago to Minneapolis in an hour, winecheck in tow. Anyone up for dinner this evening? (i expect zero replies, but it's worth a shot in the dark).

Ugh...I wish I was up there right now. I would join you in a second. I can certainly give you a couple of recommendations for dinner. check out "Spoon and Stable" or "Bachelor Farmer". Both are great spots. There's also a great place to get a cocktail underneath Bachelor Farmer called "Marvel".

If you want a nice step up from the generic hotel breakfast, head over to French Meadow. It is on Lyndale not far from the art museum. Worth checking out.

Jay, The Bachelor Farmer absolutely hit it out of the park last night. Their tartare is probably the best on I've had in USA. A great night, and a place I will visit EVERY time I'm in this town.

Dan, thanks for the recommendation; might have some time tomorrow morning, but also a possibility for lunch today - great! looking food, and only a 5 minute ride from our hotel.

I just noticed this today as well but I wouldn't have been able to make it last night anyway. Tonight on the other hand...

Bachelor Farmer is great. Obviously you brought your own wine but they have nice wine service as well. I appreciate that you can buy half a bottle and they put the rest on a chalkboard for single pour glasses. It worked really well when we were pregnant with our first child and I still wanted to drink nice wine at dinner.

I also second the recommendation for BF's neighbor Spoon & Stable.

I figured you would appreciate. Glad it was an enjoyable time!

I have never been to either "Spoon and Stable" or "Bachelor Farmer". Anyone interested in doing a mini-offline there with a bottle or two of good wine?
