Thought it might be nice to have a thread where people can concisely post great deals they are finding in the marketplace.

Not sure there is any left, but yesterday Winex (www.winex.com) had Greenock Creek at bargain prices...

GREENOCK CREEK 2005 ALICES SHIRAZ ORIGINAL RETAIL $80!
score: WA 96 WS 93
add to cart $39.99 add a case $479.88

"Huge, smoky, porty, nutty, thick, heady”, these are all descriptors for the latest sinful bottling from the Alice’s vineyard. It ain’t shy, but it is tasty, that plummy, black cherry Barossa fruit showing up in spades. Ridiculous good and, though huge, I find that, like a Dal Forno wine or some such, we could drink a bit of this and still go dancing. Wine Advocate notes, " The 2005 Alice’s Shiraz sp... read more

GREENOCK CREEK 2005 APRICOT BLOCK SHIRAZ ORIGINAL RETAIL $80!
score: WA 95
add to cart $39.99 add a case $479.88

For those of you not looking for a straight up head slap, the Apricot Block does exhibit a touch more restraint than the Alice’s. Tighter, yet still very well endowed, this one’s promising just like LeBron James was promising when he was 18, already there but still with a lot more upside potential. This is going to get even better? Goodness! Wine Advocate writes, "The 2005 Apri... read more
GREENOCK CREEK 2005 SEVEN ACRE SHIRAZ ORIGINAL RETAIL $125!
score: WA 96
add to cart $49.99 add a case $599.88

I went to the website and placed order within seconds of getting the email, hopefully mine made it under the closing door. I was even late to a web conference I was hosting because I wanted to get the order in, we will see...

Wine Exchange is clearing some stuff out.  Among them are some of the upper end Argyle pinots that are pretty tasty and at quite a reduction.

ARGYLE 2006 SPIRITHOUSE PINOT NOIR WAS 74.99
score: WA 94, WS 92
Now $49.99

Wine Advocate writes: The 2005 Pinot Noir “Spirithouse” is sourced from the Knudsen Vineyard. It is a more muscular version of the Reserve and slightly more austere in style. It will need 6-8 years to loosen up and show its full potential. The ingredients are present, but patience will be required. Argyle Winery, under the leadership of longtime winemaker Rollin Soles, produces 50,000 cases including 12,000 cases of some of the b... read more

ARGYLE 2005 NUTHOUSE PINOT NOIR WAS $59.99
score: WS 93
Now $39.99

Wine Advocate writes - The Nuthouse cuvee is released a year behind the other Pinots. The 2005 Pinot Noir Nuthouse is one of the major successes of a challenging vintage. It has a slightly aged appearance and is exhibiting an alluring perfume of spice, red fruits, and blueberry. On the mid-palate it has a wide band of fruit atypical for 2005. It has the structure of the vintage so it may well evolve for 4-5 years and drink well through 2020. It is a home run... read more

This one is intriguing as well...

JEAN LUC COLOMBO 2005 CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE BARTAVELLES
score: WS 89
add to cart $18.99

Original retail $35...now only $18.99!  Colombo is mostly known for his great Cornas wines but the man knows how to work the southern Rhone as well.  This one consists of a third each Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre from 50 year old vines, bottled unfiltered.  Very tasty wine that you can drink the heck out of right now and for Chateauneuf form one of the Rhone's most heralded names, quite the deal as well...this is Winex house wine. read more

The K is still up on Woot. That is a pretty good deal, the lowest I've seen it in OR/WA is $27.

Have to remember Woot does wine, I have an account just never remember to look.

Not sure either, but it's legit.  I've ordered wine from Woot.com probably 10 times over the past few years with no problems.  I especially like the $5 shipping, regardless of how much you order.  I've gotten 2 cases before and only paid $5 to ship...insane.  I avoid it in deep winter or deep summer...but right now is perfect.

Speaking of the opposite side of the spectrum. B-21 in FL has a good selection, and you'd think shipping from FL to GA (1 day ground) would be not so much. They charge shipping, tax and a box charge to the tune of $6.50/bottle. 6er or 12er, while they offer free delivery around a lot of FL....

Anyone in Florida that wants pbm to buy can pick up at my Orlando area house to save shipping.   My husband makes the drive from about 20 minutes from pbm to Orlando every few months.

Anyone go for Seavey Cabernet?

They just sent an offer to their mailing list with many offers, such as free shipping, 20% off Library release Magnums (1990-2005), 50% off of Library release '98 Cab and all '00 Wines. Offers are for full cases (6 btl case on Mags) so I'm not going to jump in unless there were others who want to split.

I've never seen "pinot noir" and "muscular" used in the same sentence.

I can honestly say that the CT reviews on this are spot on.
2004 Eden Value (Rogue Valley Oregon) Syrah

NJ Shop that ships @ $11/bottle

This is a deal. I have my 2 cases

In fact -- I am flying to Newark (to attend a Rieslingfest) on Friday, picking this wine up and UPS-ing it to me in my no ship state.
If anyone would like me to do the same, I'll be glad to. I am also going to Winelibrary in Springfield NJ to pick up orders and self ship. They are having a big sale starting 25 March.

If anyone is interested just PM me, you'd just buy the wine and shipper box, I pick up and put a UPS label on it and you send me a check for the shipping. It can be delivered no sig also.

The syrah is a free ship right now, if you use the freeship code, not a bad deal at all, and they ship to NH.
