First time I used Ultimate wine  and totally impressed..

Order 2 cases of wine, 1 was eden vale syrah  2004 which was on sale and free ship, the other mixed..
Ordered on monday 3.30, shipped yesterday and arrived today ,wed , before 9 am,, regular shipping..

If you pop an Eden Vale tonight, let it sit in glass for 20 minutes before you really evaluate it on palate. Nose is great off the bat.

From the Oregon Pinot Noir Club e-mail.  Phone is 1-800-847-4474.  I just signed up and have not yet purchased from them.

2007 Ayres Pinot Noir Willamette Valley  WAS $21 NOW $17
A screaming deal on a ripe, supple wine with excellent mid-palate detail.

2006 Brooks Pinot Noir Rastaban  WAS $50 NOW $34
Huge, deep and rich wine from the very warm '06 vintage.

2007 Elk Cove Pinot Noir WV  WAS $27 NOW $19
Excellent bargain from a pioneer family winery

2007 Evesham Wood PN La Grive Bleue  WAS $25 NOW $18
This was one of our best bargains BEFORE a discount!

2006 Evesham Wood PN Le Puis Sec  WAS $35 NOW $25
One of his top bottles at an unbelieveable price!

2006 Matello PN Souris  WAS $39  NOW $27
Parker 92 Points!  A masterpiece of balance and complexity. Parker's notes: "The 2006 Pinot Noir Souris is a selection of the winery's best barrels. It continues the theme of elegance but amps up the power a bit. Medium- to full-bodied, there are layers of ripe red fruits and enough structure for this outstanding effort to evolve for 2-3 years."

2003 McKinlay Pinot Noir Ladd Hill  WAS $38  NOW $26
This is perfectly integrated, and drinking extremely well now! Bob's House Wine, and the most perfectly aged, near-mature Oregon pinot in stock.

2007 Phelps Creek PN Becky's Cuvee   WAS $28 NOW $18
A past Wine Club pick, this is drinking beautifully

2006 Soter Pinot Noir Mineral Springs  WAS $75 NOW $48
Parker 93! WS 92 Points! "Crisp in texture, with strong spice and wet stone overtones to the solid cherry and berry flavors, lingering on the expressive meaty, peppery finish against silky tannins.."

2004 Cristom PN Signature Reserve  WAS $109  NOW $79
Just the best.  RP 94 Points!  "The 2004 Pinot Noir "Signature Cuvee" is made only in what the winery considers to be top vintages, the last being 1998. It is aged in 100% new oak, bottled unfined and unfiltered, and fermented with indigenous yeasts. It reveals an uplifting perfume of pain grille, spice box, blueberry and blackberry. On the palate it has serious grip, coating the mouth with glycerin and ripe flavors. It has superb concentration and depth yet maintains an elegant, refined personality. It is a candidate for wine of the vintage. "

2006 Tyrus Even Syrah Walla Walla  WAS $38 NOW $26
Tyrus Evan Wines are made by Ken Wright!  SUPERB.

2006 Tyrus Evan Syrah Del Rio  WAS $38 NOW $26
Tyrus Evan Wines are made by Ken Wright!  SUPERB.

2005 Tyrus Evan Claret Del Rio  WAS $38 NOW $26
Tyrus Evan Wines are made by Ken Wright!  SUPERB.

2005 Tyrus Evan Claret Ciel du Cheval WAS $38 NOW $26
Tyrus Evan Wines are made by Ken Wright!  SUPERB.

2006 Tyrus Even Viogner  WAS $27 NOW $18
Tyrus Evan Wines are made by Ken Wright!  SUPERB.

2006 Dobbes PN Meyer Vnyd  WAS $67 NOW $47
RP 91 and WS 92!  "offering a silky-textured, sharply focused, glowing beam of currant, plum and spice flavors piercing the light veil of tannins as it all persists harmoniously."

Some good wines in that list, the Evesham Wood is one that often gets overlooked by those not familiar with it but is pretty good stuff.

Wine Exchange just sent this... our own grafstrb gave it a 95 in his note...

LASCOMBES 2005 MARGAUX $$$ SPECIAL PURCHASE $$$
score: WA 95
add to cart $67.99 add a case $815.88

The Wine Advocate writes..."A gorgeous example of Lascombes, the 2005, a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot, continues the remarkable turn-around in quality that began five years ago. A stunningly opulent wine with a dense purple color, the 2005 possesses a beautiful perfume of spring flowers, blueberries, blackberries, creosote, and graphite, full body, silky but noticeable tannins, a layered mouthfeel, and a stunning, 45+-second finish.

My favourite pinot noir out there. And that is an incredible deal.

I cannot find a bottle of Ayres in Kansas City for under $27.

I have no idea if this is a smoking deal or a lot of fluff and I haven't got the time to research it right now, but I thought I would let you all have a look.

Wine Connection - www.wineconn.com - is offering Cos and Leoville Barton at what they are calling "lower than en primeur" prices.  Granted, that is still expensive, but some of you might be interested.

Cos D'Estournel 2005 $1,995. case (750ml)
Magnums $2,059. per case (6 mags)
Double Magnums $2,089. per case (3 bts)
Half Bottles $2,040. per case (24 halves)
6 liter (Imperials) $1,495.each
9 liter $2,400.each

Leoville Barton 2005 $1,139. per case

FYI - this was an email offer and you may need to call to get the deal if it isn't on the website.  They are ex-chateau and - I think - due to arrive in June.

Interestingly, the 24 half bottles cost almost $50 more than the standard case of 12 bottles.  Is it really that much more glass, etc?

Mine is due tomorrow from UPS, in fact they called today saying someone would need to sign for it. SO I am expecting that order tomorrow. Will have a bottle tomorrow night probably. Never had it, going on the faith of CT'ers.

It isn't a 1898 Bordeaux, BUT I'd still give it a day of rest first.

I can honestly say that the CT reviews on this are spot on.
2004 Eden Value (Rogue Valley Oregon) Syrah

NJ Shop that ships @ $11/bottle

This is a deal. I have my 2 cases

In fact -- I am flying to Newark (to attend a Rieslingfest) on Friday, picking this wine up and UPS-ing it to me in my no ship state.
If anyone would like me to do the same, I'll be glad to. I am also going to Winelibrary in Springfield NJ to pick up orders and self ship. They are having a big sale starting 25 March.

If anyone is interested just PM me, you'd just buy the wine and shipper box, I pick up and put a UPS label on it and you send me a check for the shipping. It can be delivered no sig also.

The syrah is a free ship right now, if you use the freeship code, not a bad deal at all, and they ship to NH.

I took the lead and ordered a case over the weekend...free ship sealed the deal.
Mike

Buy with confidence from them. I have made many other purchases from them and never had any problems...

FYI, Max M., the owner, is a straight shooter who regularly posts over at ebob webboard...

I live right near Wine Connection and I shop there often.  Nice store, knowledgeable people, excellent selection of French and Italian wines in particular.  I have never had a problem with them, although I have never had them ship me anything.  They have some stuff in the store that they do not put on the website and they have a good deal of older, aged stuff - so email Max if you are looking for something specific.

If you are ever in the area, let me know - we can get together and drink what you bought.

More from Oregon PN Club e-mail. I have no affiliation and have never used them.  My cellar is full and wallet empty after a weekend trip to Paso Robles.

Scott Paul La Paulee  for $28.  Currently averaging $35 in CT.

www.oregonpinotnoir.com

A Raging Hot Deal on Scott Paul La Paulee!
 Greetings!
Better wine values seem to be the order of the day. Here's our latest offer of a STELLAR wine at a STEEP DISCOUNT -- read on for details!
Bob WolfePinotguy

Get La Paulee at $28 HERE

2006 Scott Paul Pinot Noir "La Paulee"   WAS $39 NOW $28
MORE THAN 28% OFF!

This is a new-world style pinot with all the markers that make such wines desirable: Lush, fruit-centric, open-knit, luxuriously textured, suave, silky, hedonistic - heck, I could go on for paragraphs (and often do). But the simple fact is that this wine is all about the fruit, and all about early drinkability. Boom. That's it. Toss in a straw and wallow. Even better, it's easily comparable to wines of a similar style that cost $45 and more.

At this recession-busting price, you won't find a better bargain. It was a good deal before, now it is simply awesome.

WS 90 Points! "Bright, vibrant and distinctive for its strawberry and raspberry fruit, riding high over a base of lively acidity and fine tannins. Hints at rose petal and white pepper as the finish keeps zinging."

Parker 91 Points! "The 2006 Pinot Noir La Paulee is a blend of several well-known vineyards. Medium ruby-colored, the nose reveals cherry, raspberry, cedar, and earth notes. Velvety-textured, bordering on opulent, the wine has superior depth and concentration, enough structure to evolve for several years, and a persistent, fruit-filled finish."

EVEN BETTER -- take an additional 5% off any two cases or more.

I can see this thread growing to be as long as our two other monsters: "I just drank.." and "active users". Might be a good idea to stick it at the top and to create another one for those of us who use UK merchants. I am sure it would be very helpful to the community.

This is basically the same as them paying sales tax ... not bad.  I'm lukewarm on Hi-Time's pricing ... they have some good pricing on some Rieslings and some CdP's, but not so much on everything else I buy.  I'll probably take a little looksy through their website to see if i can find any goodies.  thanks for posting, patrick.

I'm a little bias as I can walk or ride my bike here.  Their pricing is usually on the highside, but there is a couple good deals here.  I found the lowest price on the Entity here.  Being a beer lover you should check out their walk-in beer fridge.
Yeah the sales tax hike wasn't fun or helpful either, even less fun for LA residents.

Good to know. I may have to stop down there to see what I can find. I agree, they tend to be high in regards to pricing, but 10% is 10%. Thanks Patrick!

At the risk of getting blasted....I like the idea of "Smoking deals..." Also like the idea of possibly splitting US/UK or other areas that make sense. I wonder if we should define "smoking deal." For example would 10% off really qualify as a smoking deal?
