It's good to see Joe. Hope he hangs around a bit.

I think Joe is part of our collective unconscious, a part that knows how to be laid-back, to take things easy. He may seem a little lonely at first, but that's because he can be happy in solitude, he can smile in the margins between passengers, there's no requirement for talk. Yet it can't be just that simple, can it? Joe has to have an edge to him, in there somewhere.

I wrote to a friend today. He's a gifted and giving poet, and his wife died this morning. Not much to come up with that's really 'good' to say, as is usually the case.

Not long before I heard the sad news, I had read his latest poem, one that touched upon the theme of immortality.

Man, there are some days when you just have to shake your head...

Wow Old Doug. Not sure your post qualifies as a poem, but it is poetic. My formalistic judgment embedded in the last line is partially (perhaps wholly) tongue in cheek. Raising a glass to you and your friend.

Thanks, Ron. It's just a heck of a thing. Probably my biggest fear is getting a phone call from my mother-in-law or my wife's sister, saying my wife has been in an accident....

Because as is disturbingly and increasingly a trend, the cat mafia ninja mind-control force has his property under interdiction.

Jay, no - no kids. My wife is one of 3 sisters who had no kids themselves, while their brother did. I mention it because it seems unusual.
