Dinner with Dontime and his lovely better half. 2006 Valdicava Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Madonna del Piano. Wasn't a last puppy, but definitely a bottle i'd been looking for an opportunity to drink. Quite tasty.

Even though it had been on my calendar, I totally forgot about Saturday being OTBN. Which hardly mattered, since we had some family over, and that included grandkids, alcoholics, and non-wine drinkers. But I opened with our hamburgers dinner a 2009 Lagier Meredith Mount Veeder Syrah, which turned out to be in a ridiculously fantastic place. So, although only two of us partook of any, it turned out to be a fitting selection.

I ended up going with a 2007 Full Pull and Friends Chardonnay -- turned out to also be last bottle. Drank like an aged chardonnay -- over ripe pineapple, overripe lemon. Lots of overripe fruit flavors. It was fine, though not what I like in an aged Chardonnay. Was fine with salmon fillets.
