It looks like a great idea for short-term preservation It would get almost all of the air out of the container. Questions:

Will the materials used in the device affect the taste of the wine?
What effect will the dissolved oxygen have on the ability to preserve the wine? In that aspect, I'd expect the Coravin to be better since the wine in the bottle is never exposed to the outside air.

I am looking to use it for the very short term. At most maybe over 5 days.

IT sure looks good. One other possible concern is the plunger/pouring spout. After you pour the wine, the inside of the spout doe3sn't get cleaned. Will it be like drinking out of a wine glass that was used the previous day and not cleaned?

If you buy it, please report back here. If it works well, I think that it is the most elegant preservation solution that I have seen....and I'd likely buy one.

I agree, everything about it looks amazing. Just would like to hear from people that have real world experience. Posted online reviews rave about it.

First i've heard of this. The wine gets oxidated to some extent in being poured/transferred, to the other bottle, so how much better is it versus putting the cork back into it?

I wonder the difference vs the Coravin , where you shoot the argon into the bottle in place of the wine.

could be some interesting comparisons coming out of this.......I'm curious

I’d never buy for wines to drink over days, which I rarely do anyway, as the tube’s cavity seems like it would hold as much or more air than a bottle with a similar amount drank. Plus, too much of a pain to clean n shine.

The number of bottles I buy is nothing in comparison to the bottles I don’t buy. Let’s have a little perspective please.

There is a great review and comparison by a British fellow named Ishan Kolhatkar that I found very helpful. Use link below or Google eto vs coravin

In summary, he thinks both are excellent. Coravin more expensive but allows long term storage. Eto less expensive but best for 2 weeks or less and requires through cleaning.

Why not just use a Repour stopper? They are inexpensive.
