I was curious as to why you took 3 tight ends, and now I know. Of, course I took Jonathan Taylor in the 6th, so I have no room to talk.

How's everyone feeling about their draft results? I feel pretty good. I've never had a league with W/T for three slots and only one RB, one W/R. At the second overall pick, it was pretty obvious with this format to take Ja'Marr Chase but then, way down at my second pick and 23 overall, I had QB-envy with Mahomes and Hurts going so early, so I panic-took Josh Allen. As such, my skill positions are relatively weak. I hope I didn't "homer" taking Kenneth Walker III too early, but at least it'll make watching the Seahawks games more interesting! Let's gooooo, Chateau Haut-BRRion!

My first time in a few years and I drafted a mix of old timers and unknowns, hoping for lightning in a bottle. and knowing it all comes down to who stays healthy. Of course my #1 pick, Yakima home boy Cooper Kupp is listed as questionable for game 1. D'oh!

My first time in this format too, without a required TE, but I drafted one, maybe 2, anyway.

Looking forward to a fun, relaxing season.

I'm relatively satisfied, with a couple of exceptions. I'm still feeling weird about having taken Kelce with my first pick. In this league, I generally avoid all tight ends. And then I had a huge brain fart, aided by skifree, and took Jonathan Taylor as my 6th pick. What was I thinking?

Well at least Kelce basically acts as WR#1 in that offense.

As for Jonathan Taylor, well, he was good a few years ago.

I'm fine with the picks except pick 1 when i queued one player but for some reason clearly clicked wrong and picked another.. lame.

that said. FF draft are like NFL draft, the season's not won/lost at the draft.. it's the week to week operations. and frankly, heads up FF is almost entirely based one thing and one thing only - LUCK

ATTENTION

Your Commish let you down. We never decided on the number of winners and the specific payout and order. Last year, we had 10 teams with 4 winners, with the payout being:

4, 3, 2, 1 (bottles, 1st through 4th, respectively)

Question:

Do we want 4 or 5 winners this year?
I suggest 5 to hold the interest of more teams.

Once we determine the number of winners, we can set the payout and the order.

I'm good with 5 winners, keep the interest going, and more like a Secret Santa sort of vibe than winner take all.

last bottle could go to highest points last two playoff weeks among teams that didn't make the final four. That way at the very end of the season everyone who didn't make the prize winning top 4 still has a reason to play hard.

I like your suggestion, Hank. It's similar to what we did a couple of years ago.

The only change I would like to see is the last bottle going to a team that did NOT make the playoffs. Otherwise, it is likely that the playoff teams will get the last bottle.

Do four or six make the playoffs?

If six, that means two teams lose out of the playoffs in the first week. And then there's two more weeks?

Should those two teams be eliminated from the competition for the last bottle in the last two weeks of the playoffs, where they have no longer playing?

Or maybe I have the format wrong?.

And definitely I don't have a strong feeling, just throwing it out there

Based on Yahoo's rating of my draft, this question is moot for me.

Based on Yahoo's opinion of your draft, this question is targeting you. If Yahoo is right, your only chance at a bottle is if you meet the criteria that Hank and I have been discussing.

Having said that, Yahoo is very consistent with the draft ratings.......as in consistently WRONG.

I was feeling pretty good about my draft until I saw Yahoo predicting me to finish the season 2 - 12. LOL!! Sooooo, I guess we'll just have to wait and see ... your Allen pick (as well as the Hurts pick) was one of many QB picks that snatched a QB right out of my Next Pick Plan! Going WR-RB-RB was never in my range of planned possibilities, but that's what happened, sooo ... eek!

Yeah, it took me a moment to fully appreciate that we didn't *need* to draft a TE. Kinda makes my Hockenson pick look like a reach.

I could go either way. If I have to vote, the put me down for 5. From a POV, more winners = more good.

D+ draft grade.. nice. :D

I vote 5 winners. expand 1st by 1 btl, and give 1 btl to the highest NON playoff team.
6 team into the playoffs play for the top 4 spots
6 team not in playoffs, highest total points For in those 3 playoff weeks get the btl

Payouts:

1st 5 bottles
2nd 3 bottles
3rd 2 bottles
4th 1 bottle
Highest PF in playoffweeks by NON playoff teams 1 bottle

Draw order: (illustrative example:)

1st
1st
2nd
3rd
1st
2nd
4th
1st
2nd
3rd
NonPlayoff

I like your suggestion, but I am concerned about tracking all of the non-playoff team scores, during the playoffs. I forget....does Yahoo allow non-playoff teams to modify starters and perform add/drops throughout the playoffs?

i'm 99% sure they do ..

in fact i'm also 99% sure we did this a couple of years back but dropped it when we went to 10 teams.. :D
it's been a while tho so i can't recall for sure :)

Me, too. I'll adopt Mye's suggestion with one minor clarification. The winner of the non-playoff bottle will be for weeks 15 through week 17, unless Yahoo cuts it off at week 16, then it will be highest total score for weeks 15 and 16.

Playoffs (Thanks to Mye for providing the structure and details)

6 team into the playoffs play for the top 4 spots
6 team not in playoffs, highest total points For in those 3 playoff weeks get the btl*
*Note: If Yahoo only allows non-playoff teams to participate through week 16, then the final bottle goes to the highest combined score for weeks 15 and 16.

Payouts:

1st 5 bottles
2nd 3 bottles
3rd 2 bottles
4th 1 bottle
Highest PF in playoff weeks by NON playoff teams 1 bottle
