Hey Friends -

Seeking some advice from all the Bordeaux lovers, specifically those with a preference for the left banks. Important birthday approaching and I’d like a splurge on a bottle. My small but growing collection is focused on left bank first growths (for now) but pretty much consists of either Grand Vin’s being cellared or second labels (both ready to drink and being cellared).

Any recommendations for a Grand Vin that is ready to drink now? Assume anything up to $1000 is fair game, maybe a bit more.

Welcome any and all advice!

I just got an offer for older "100 pt" wines from Flickinger's in Chicago, there were some 1990 first growths in that list that would meet your criteria.

Hard to make a specific recommendation without knowing your location and what retailers you have access to, and whether you like wines with lots of age or those with less.

Welcome to the forum!

Spend the cash on the 10-30 bottles of great Bordeaux that you can buy for the equivalent of a single bottle vanity buy. That’s my best advice for longer term enjoyment 🙂
