There are a number of entries for this wine, which is the second (now third, with Home Ranch) wine of Monte Bello. In the past, I believe that it was called Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon, but recent vintages (at least the 2000) were not sufficiently composed of Cabernet Sauvignon to qualify as a pure varietal wine. These are just labeled "Ridge Santa Cruz Mountains California" The bottom of the label indicates varietal composition, as is custom with Ridge. In the database, a number of entries exist, including Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon and Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet-Merlot, at the very least. As with Monte Bello, some normalization and an agreed-upon convention would be most welcome. Cheers, fred
