1/15/2021 - rmarkey Likes this wine: 92 pointsExcellent, still drinking beautifully. Similar comments to previously: blueberry, chocolate, white pepper, leather, with developed fruit and soft full long finish. Held up very well alongside a 2005 Ramage la Batisse, why had more of the classic dry Bordeaux character whereas the Folly had more uplifted fruit character still. |

12/6/2019 - Geoff7777 wrote: NRI love these wines when they are a little fuller mid palate than this wine at present, as they take me back to the richer Doug Elliot Belford of the 70’s. Pale straw in colour., and wet straw and lime juice on the nose but it is so undeveloped. More grassy on the palate with some lime zest and lemons on the finish. In an awkward phase right now. The vineyard and the vintage will shine, it just needs more time. If you have it leave it and try again in 2023 as looks like a slow developer.

Thanks for your comments. I think the Folly 2006 is plateauing probably, but it will continue for years yet. They often need to reach a good age before being at their best, and do go through a dormant period after the first couple of years.
Good luck with yours
