I dont know if it's stylistic differences or age has dramatically improved this wine but, if you like rustic tempranillo, this offers a great value. Fairly muted nose of blackberries and red currants, muted flavor but great mouthfeel, fullbodied with a strong finish. I'll wait another 2 yrs for my other bottle to see if the fruit can last.

12/10/2018 - unrelenting Does not like this wine: 89 pointsMuted Leather nose. So flat on the palate. I'm not sure whether there's enough to this wine to evolve further but it's disappointing right now. A little acidity very low tannin. Try in 2021?

11/26/2014 - Dale Rattles Does not like this wine: 85 pointsI had been holding off on my review, but I just finished the last of 6 bottles (drank over the past 6 months or so) and feel that I've given this wine every opportunity to show itself, but it just didn't do so. The fruit is so very restrained that I found myself desperately trying to coax it out. Funky "barnyard" nose that never really blows off. I have gone through probably a dozen similarly-priced 2007 CDPs, Gigondas's and Vacqueras's in my cellar and this one's definitely at the bottom of the list. How disappointing given the rave reviews of others!
