3/6/2022 - G8tor80 Likes this wine: 96 points1.5 hour decant and followed for 2.5 hours. Fruity nose of dark red fruits and cedar notes, maybe some slight bricking but really looks youthful. Blackberry, plumbs, cocoa, youthful feel with fine tannins, improving as the night progressed. Approachable now but plenty of stuffing left. |

3/25/2021 - G8tor80 Likes this wine: 93 pointsSurprisingly dark color, no bricking on the rim, full flowers on the nose. Pop and pour, and the initial taste was tart as some have mentioned, but over time the cherry/raspberry fruit came out and the predominant tartness faded actually working well with the fruit. Never a hint of sweetness, really nice mouthfeel and finish. Next time I would decant fir an hour or so. |

5/24/2020 - G8tor80 Likes this wine: 93 pointsPop and pour, initial impressions - dark inky color, and with aeration, nice fruit on the nose. Red tartish fruits with spice, an acid backbone with a long, dry, dusty tannin finish. I think this needs way more time to air, and may age well as it doesn’t have that over the top sweetness. But at this stage it’s not overly complex and doesn’t feel like the elements are fully integrated, so I’m on the fence a bit on this one. |

3/28/2020 - G8tor80 Likes this wine: NRBeautiful nose of pure currants and violets. No bricking, deep red color. On the pallet dark fruit, with seamless tannins which are well integrated with acid, just a really great wine. Very smooth finish which seems to last forever, would love to taste again in 5 more years but this is my last bottle, will have to try the Lotus vineyard designation next! |

3/22/2020 - G8tor80 wrote: 89 pointsDecanted for an hour, nose was a little muted, more fruited than floral. Against the backdrop of other vintages (this being possibly my favorite Napa Cabernet producer) I found it good but not great, and other 2011’s I’ve tasted like Greer have performed better. All the normal components were there, dark fruits, vanilla, oak and muted tannins but they just seemed subdued. I only purchased 2 of these and I’m not sure how it’s going to age, maybe I drank this one too young. Not tying to be Debbie Downer, could be my pallet was off, paired it with a grilled steak. |

3/20/2020 - G8tor80 Likes this wine: 94 pointsYoung just starting to emerge, pop and pour, would benefit from decanting. Very delicate nose with some alcohol. Deep red color, really big fruit, some sweetness but not overblown, tannins pull the fruit in and the finish is long. This needs time (or a decent decant) to really shine, I’m sure It will improve with age, I Wil wait unless 5 years to open my next one. |

7/17/2016 - G8tor80 Likes this wine: 90 pointsSubtle nose of cherry and forest floor (?). Very balanced, mature cherry/raspberry fruit, a little mid pallet sweetness with a touch of acid on the muted finish. Ready to drink, would not count on any additional improvement. |

1/30/2016 - G8tor80 Likes this wine: 94 pointsI initially had this rated lower trying to handicap it for being a 2013, served blind this would be hard to pick out as a second wine. Firing on all cylinders, restrained fruit, rich tannins and an acid balance, delivers from the bouquet on the nose to the finish. |

1/14/2016 - G8tor80 Likes this wine: 89 pointsNice color with very little bricking. Cedar, tobacco, red fruits, nice acid balance with softening tannins on the finish. Still has time but I don't see it improving. |

1/31/2015 - G8tor80 Likes this wine: 95 pointsMore restrained than other vintages I've had of this. Pop and pour consumed over two hours, improved as it got more air. Plenty of gas in the tank for ageing. |

12/3/2015 - G8tor80 Likes this wine: 90 pointsNice medium bodied Cabernet. Mix of red and black fruits, middle pallet is a little hollow, but a nice if not spectacular finish, enough tannin to last several years but I would not expect much improvement. |

11/20/2015 - G8tor80 Likes this wine: 89 pointsDid not find this to be a fruit bomb, but not overly complex either. Nice "medium" cherry fruit, and good backbone of acid and tannin, but nothing really snacks you in the face. Not bad, but not memorable. |

10/2/2015 - G8tor80 Likes this wine: 95 pointsThis is drinking really nicely, better than an 05 I had a couple of weeks ago. Certainly could go longer but it's in a good place right now. Solid fruit core with soft tannins. |

9/17/2015 - G8tor80 Likes this wine: 93 pointsA little tight initially as a pop and pour, it opened up beautifully as we consumed it over a couple of hours. No initial barnyard just nice fruit with a long finish. Extreamly well balanced, hard to resist now but I'm glad I have more to follow as this will improve with some time in the bottle. |
