2007 Paul Hobbs Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valleymore |
10/16/2015 - King of the Farm Likes this wine: 92 pointsAgree with the previous note that this is much softer and approachable than I thought it was going to be. I didn't jot down any formal notes but this was very enjoyable. |

3/16/2015 - King of the Farm Likes this wine: 87 pointsDrink now... I waited probably a year too long to have my last bottle. Definitely not bad and still quite enjoyable, but I think this would have been better if I finished them off on the younger side |

4/19/2014 - King of the Farm Likes this wine: 92 pointsExceptional Sauv Blanc! And a great value, this has great acidity, tart green apple, pineapple, grass, lemon with hints of pith... Every bit as good as Merry Edwards, if you're familiar with that style. I'm a fool for only buying 2 bottles... |

3/20/2014 - King of the Farm Does not like this wine: 82 pointsMisplaced my formal notes, tasted blind along with 16 other Bordeaux blends... I recorded this as the worst of the night. |

2009 Dierberg Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hillsmore |
1/20/2014 - King of the Farm Likes this wine: 92 pointsEnjoyed this quite a bit, this is definitely a cab drinkers pinot. not meek in any way. I was surprised with just how much oak was showing here. A good amount, yet it worked very nicely. quite happy with this. |

10/21/2013 - King of the Farm Likes this wine: 93 pointsDecanted for 3 hours before tasting... Noticeably less heat than the last time I had this nearly 2 years ago. A proper decant helped, I'm sure. Tastes of blueberry, well structured tannins, much less oak than I recall previously. Well balanced, and well done... |

2013 The Bruery Tart of DarknessOrange County Malt, Grain more |
8/15/2013 - King of the Farm Likes this wine: 88 pointsSolid Tart beer, very similar to Sour in the Rye, but I must say, this was not what I expected in a stout. This was more of a normal sour ale but with a small hint of coffee on the tail... Different. Drink this blindfolded and I'd guess you would have a hard time telling this is a stout. |

NV The Bruery Saison de LenteOrange County Malt, Grain more |
8/8/2013 - King of the Farm Does not like this wine: 85 pointsThis isn't my kind of beer... Tastes of Lemon Pith, Pine Needles and Grapefruit. The bitterness of lemon pith was quite strong though. I can certainly see how some would enjoy a beer of this style, but it's not for me. I have one more, we'll see if it changes for me. |

7/29/2013 - King of the Farm Likes this wine: 90 pointsTart, somewhat sour. Tasted rather like a Hefeweizen that has a large amount of lemon in it. Very refreshing! |

6/22/2013 - King of the Farm wrote: 88 pointsSoft pinkish red & Amber in color. Unfiltered. This is a sour beer, similar to the Bruery's Sour in the Rye but I don't care for this as much as SitR. The Cherry definitely comes through as well as Tangerine. I also noticed the Oak and it was quite subtle, which I felt was nicely balanced. Picked up on hints of coriander and even cucumber (not everyone agreed on my taste buds here) . I felt this became more enjoyable as it warmed in the glass. Enjoyable and quite unique, but I think I prefer Sour in the Rye. Much like SitR, you can drink a glass or two of this, but I would find it difficult to have more than that. |

2007 Goldeneye Pinot Noir Anderson Valleymore |
5/29/2013 - King of the Farm Likes this wine: 91 pointsSadly, my last bottle of 2007... Drank from a magnum with Italian food... no decant (I know)... Excellent as always. I didn't find this to be pruney as others have indicated. I notice considerably more oak than Goldeneye's more recent bottlings ('09 & '10). |

2011 Madeleine Chenin Blanc L'ArsouilleMonterey more |
5/29/2013 - King of the Farm Likes this wine: 93 pointsAgain, I'm really impressed by the wines of Madeleine. I purchased 8 bottles a few months ago based on a recommendation of their Cab Franc. I added a few bottles of Chenin Blanc onto my order just to give it a try. Truly a wonderful refreshing and complex summer white. Crisp acidity with a subtle and muted creamy finish. Lemon and Melon nicely balanced. I am a fan. |

5/27/2013 - King of the Farm Does not like this wine: 79 pointsAgree with previous notes, bitter finish on this wine. I know this is an inexpensive Sauv Blanc, but I was still disappointed. Didn't care for it... |

2010 Migration (Duckhorn Vineyards) Pinot Noir Russian River Valleymore |
4/13/2013 - King of the Farm Does not like this wine: 85 pointsVery reluctant to score this an 85... but I can't call this "Very" Good. Upon first taste, blueberries, cranberries and raspberries come through quite a bit and then prunes. and more prunes, more prunes... then there were prunes (see where I'm going here?). Tastes of wet stone and actually some firm tannins that were tasty. Good wine, but not Migration's best effort. I was very pleased with the 2009 Migration RR, but let down here on '10. |

2010 Goldeneye Pinot Noir Anderson Valleymore |
4/8/2013 - King of the Farm Likes this wine: 89 pointsSide by Side Tasting with the '09 Goldeneye Anderson Valley Pinot...Thought it would be a good idea to compare the '10 & '09. This was done over dinner with porterhouse steaks. The 2010 Goldeneye was a bit more earthy than the '09, musty, if you will. Fruit was noticeably less forward than the '09, Rich red color and tastes of Raspberry, Cranberry & Plum. Mild spice. All in all... a very solid wine but I would give the edge to the '09. |

2009 Madeleine Cabernet Franc Chapitre V - Le PianisteSan Benito County more |
4/5/2013 - King of the Farm Likes this wine: 93 pointsVery consistent tasting notes as the last bottle, I would like to add that there is a wonderful earthiness that I didn't mention in my previous note on Le Pianiste. Tastes of gravel, soil... wonderful accents. 3hr decant, TONS of sediment that I was much better at keeping in the bottle and out of the decanter this time. |

2007 Hall Cabernet Sauvignon Kathryn Hall Napa Valleymore |
4/5/2013 - King of the Farm Likes this wine: 92 pointsPop & Pour... This was a last minute addition to dinner that was pulled from the cellar. Otherwise, we would have decanted. This needs time to open up. very hot on the nose, but delicious. Dark fruits, mild tannins, fennel, coriander & mustard seed.... this really opened up in the glass but I did this a disservice by not aerating... |

2012 Arnot-Roberts RoséCalifornia Touriga Nacional more |
4/1/2013 - King of the Farm wrote: 86 pointsTasting notes consistent with "ONTHELEES". (obviously) Pale pink in color, tastes of strawberry, raspberry some minerality. Very surprised to see sediment in this, I did not expect that at all. Served this very cold and I was let down a bit at first, after this had some time to warm up (just a bit) it improved. Had this with Easter lunch, BBQ Chicken and Pork and it followed a Washington Dry Reisling that quite frankly, overshadowed it. Still quite good, but I was hoping for more. I have 3 more bottles in my cellar and I'm hoping for a better match next time. |

2009 Madeleine Cabernet Franc Chapitre V - Le PianisteSan Benito County more |
3/30/2013 - King of the Farm Likes this wine: 94 pointsFirst time trying Madeliene wines... and I am impressed. I purchased 3 different wines from Madeliene and 4 bottles of Le Pianieste because I am a fan of Cab Franc. This is an outstanding wine, very approachable right now. 90 minute decant and this had much more sediment than I ever expected. Deep red/crimson in color and the nose was wonderful. Smells of cassis & blackberry. Medium to Full body, rich tannins that were gentle. To me, this was quite impressive. I enjoy a tannic wine but some can be overbearing needing too much time to calm down. This had such a great balance to it. I'm very impressed and pleased. |

2007 Donum Pinot Noir Carnerosmore |
2/27/2013 - King of the Farm wrote: 95 pointsMy last bottle... What a wonderful Pinot. Red Fruits, black cherry, just the right touch of spice. This is one of those times when you feel like you popped a bottle at the perfect time and decanted the right amount of time and paired it properly. 07 was a wonderful vintage, and Donum made a great wine. My top wine so far for 2013 |
