7/28/2017 - frapadingue Likes this wine: 91 pointsBought on, and stored well since, release. This is drinking quite well now. Textbook Gevrey masculinity with dark fruit, soubois nose, and a bit of tannin not yet resolved. I only have one of these left, but will probably wait two years or so to consume it. 5/18/2016 - frapadingue Likes this wine: 91 pointsThis is a great $15 bottle of wine. Lots of dark fruit notes still somewhat masked by tannins that I believe will integrate well with time. If properly stored, this wine should improve a bit for a couple of years. After that, I think it will still provide pleasure for another five years or so. |

8/29/2015 - frapadingue wrote: 93 pointsThis bottle was from a case I bought on release where many bottles leaked. This was the worst, with ullage several inches below the bottle's shoulder. So perhaps I'm being generous with my rating, because I wasn't expecting much, but this was a very tasty drink with lots of years ahead before it declines. |

5/27/2015 - frapadingue Likes this wine: 90 pointsFor a wine at this level, this was very good indeed, both with food and sipping on its own. Tart fresh cherry bouquet, ample mouth feel and a restrained nose. I think this will improve with time. |

5/5/2015 - frapadingue wrote: 90 pointsThe last two notes posted were 85 and 91. This bottle was definitely in the low 90s. Bought on release. This was, if not closed, at least reticent. |

3/13/2015 - frapadingue wrote: 94 pointsFrom a 375 mm bottle. This was great! Larger bottles will need more time, although even in this smaller format the wine is really not yet totally ready to drink (and has a long life ahead). |

7/19/2014 - frapadingue Likes this wine: 90 pointsNiagara thought this was turbid, and it is somewhat. But for me that is the density of the fruit, which is sensed on the nose, palate and finish -- all three. Tanzer said this had aging potential. It has indeed, and it should be fine for even further time in the cellar. Some secondary characteristics appear now, but mostly it's primary still. 90+ |

4/10/2014 - frapadingue Likes this wine: 91 pointsThis was consumed too young -- though over two days, so some evolution occurred. Tart red fruit and not much middle on day one. The second day it had fleshed out fairly well and the nose had improved. But I think it will be even better in four to five years. 91 for now based on day two, but room for upside. |

7/16/2013 - frapadingue Likes this wine: 91 pointsGiven that the CT community is holding more of these (60%) than have been consumed (40%), a lot of people are expecting (or hoping for) good things from this wine. With patience they will get them. |

3/19/2013 - frapadingue Likes this wine: 92 pointsThis was my third bottle from a case and the first one I really liked. This is atypical Cote Rotie -- no meat or bacon fat. But it has finally evolved to an ample nose of black fruit, a palate of dense (although hot) fruit and a short but pleasant finish. I think this will improve and become more complex. Parker says this will drink well through 2025, and he may well be right. |
