9/28/2009 - ttriche wrote: 91 pointsThis was a very tasty bottle of wine with plummy, berry, but acidic palate impression. For a wine that apparently has a good dose of amarone in it, it was anything but heavy. However, the wine stood up nicely to a flank steak and grilled vegetables (I think asparagus was also involved) and stomped all over a bottle of petit verdot / zin / cab that looked interesting but... wasn't. Evolved over the course of a long meal and became progressively more interesting. Exceptional wine for drinking with a meal and good company. I have another bottle on the way and I wish I'd bought more than that. |

10/6/2009 - ttriche wrote: 84 pointsCan't quite say for sure, but the bottle might have gone off. Either that or there was a little more oxidation than the last time I tried it. Smelled good -- cherry, spice, oak, funk, a little smoke. Unfortunately there is something in the bottle that I just don't care for, something that wasn't there before. Oh well. |

12/8/2008 - ttriche wrote: 87 pointsIt's OK. I'm afraid my wife and I liked the Pine Ridge Viognier/Chenin Blanc a lot better, perhaps we drank this one too cold or perhaps it's just not to our taste. It's well made and aromatic, but nothing like the Viognier blend. |
