Tannins are integrated in a good and sift way, but still present, the acid suits the tannins and there's a nice mix of fresh and aged tones. Tastes pretty much the same, with added notes of cola and licorice. I think this wine is in a good spot now, the tannins are well integrated and matches the level of acidity. There are some hints of aging, in a positive way, and I don't think there's much to be gained from further cellaring. Over all a sharp and focused wine, not to big. 90+ Maybe a bit expensive? Same tones on the palate, also apples, and lots of acidity. The wine is really fresh, almost frizzy. Great qpr, its quite long and well-made. Will handle years in the cellar with ease. At first it gave blood/meat, pepper and dark berries on the nose. Dominant acid and dark red berries on the palate straight after opening. After 45-60 minutes in a decanter there were more floral aromas, as well as hints of italian liquorice. It has a decent mouth-feel, quite juicy with a taste of cherries and liqourice, quite long finish. Absolutely decent wine but one might expect a bit more elegance at this price level.
