1/12/2008 - elnido wrote: 89 pointsWe enjoed this pinot with an asian rub (black bean sauce) grilled pork chop. Decanted for about 30 minutes and drank over two hours. It paired quite nicely with dinner. A mild cherry nose. Crisp fruity taste with hints of nutmeg spices and tobacco. A balanced texture lasting into a decently long finish. |

I'd have to say it wasn't a 97 for me, however I don't think we gave it enough time. We drank it over a fairly short dinner and didn't decant. The wine is is very rich and dark colored. There's lots of complexity and flavors of berries, spice, casis with supple tannins. A nice long finish rounds out the wine nicely. I'd like to give it another try, decant it, and over a longer sitting. |

12/30/2007 - elnido wrote: 91 pointsA bit wound up at the start. Sweet tannins hitting right at the back of the palatte. After 30 minutes in the glass, the bouquet really opened up with blackberry and plums. Full bodied, rich, a hint of chocolate, a very long finish. Overall still one of our favorite 'affordable' wines. It went well with the pizza we had for dinner and then by itself while watching a movie. |
