Spicy notes on the nose. Rhum-infused plums and cedar. Second nose like autumn-leaves in the woods. Leather on the very end of sniff.
On the palate nice hedonistic fruit of the ripe plum, fine and delicate acidy. Not in front, just pushing forward. Still a very few tannins, must have been undrinkable in youth. Besides all the kind words this stays a rustic wine.. For every day from pizza to filet of beef. But also a real pleasure for any ambitious wine lover (if there’s not musigny every day ) Cheers

Perfect wine for watching a harmless soccer-game (COL-ENG) First nose lots of fruit tea and plums. Keeps it for the next half an hour but than fades out into a blood and iron habitat. Dried out a bit in the end. But anyway a really nice drinking wine with a great flow. At its peak and don’t need to keep any longer.
Cheers

This one is for you Frank, even if it is not your style
First after pouring very firm with the taste of cherry candy. After 30min + it starts to open up and offering a basket of red berries and lots of cherries of course. The reduction comes out and some volume in-mouth.
Missing a bit the slate (like in Molitor Pinots) and the racyness( very gentle in Ziereisen-style)
But nice easy-drinking Pinot but just a bit too conservative in order of the producer(s)

Feeling addicted to this classic Tondonia style.
Opened this bottle 4 days ago and there was absolutely no development. This will last for ages I guess.
Nose is filled with bee-wax and caramel On the palate it’s like flesh of a ripe lemon without the hard acidity. Pure and elegant in-mouth feeling with precise structure and mouthwatering flow. Gripping and chasing for the next sip. Should drink this more often I guess Worth any search (high range in price; pays out to look closely)

Nice and perfect to drink right now! Apple and lemon on the palate. So animating and slate-driven. Fresh and light-footed with a nice lime-tail. Not sticky.
Just in love with those fine Mosel Riesling

2000 Dom Pérignon Champagne P2

Dom Perignon tasting w/ Nick Lane.
Second released vintage of the former oenotheque bottling. We were told that there’s absolutely no difference between P2 and the regular Vintage.
The Degorgement of the bottes we had was 2016.
It was a bit closed in the beginning but opened up after 15 min in the glass. Fine perlage and offers a silky mouth-feel. The nose is Smokey with some flintstone. Very generous.
On the palate very compact. The complexity is quite high but the acidity could be a bit more racy (in my opinion)
Needs a few more years to develop to drinking peak. 95+

Also from the DP tasting w/ Nick Lane.
Nick told us that this is the expression of Pinot noir @ DP . And more rose produced than the white .
For me the best rose I’ve had for a long time. Perfect in balance. Airy but with a lot of pressure on the palate. Some tannins from the mid-palate to the end and some grip through a dancing bitterness. Enormous length and high minerality. The fruits are like green plums and unripe strawberries.
You should try even if you’re not the biggest Rose-Fan

Had the 09 on a DP tasting w/ Nick Lane (second Chef du cave @ DP) out of magnum.
Didn’t had such a nice DP for a long time. Hit it with drinking not thinking. It is strong on the fruit but with a clear and crispy finish . Not that smokey and full-bodied as 03 but same direction.
Nice brioche, Granny Smith and lemon cest.
Just the length is a bit missing.

A classy Riesling Perfect balance and good racyness. A lot of minerality coming from the slate.
But after a few minutes in the glass the pear turns into quince and honey. Stays firm as long an it is cold but if it turns a few degrees warmer it gets wider and a bit botritys turns out.
Not really disappointed but a little bit. Any other vintage is stronger (expect 2012) Better drink now than later

What do you expect from a Kabinett? A fresh and racy which is dragging for the next sip. Flawless work from Julia and KP in this one! Pure and elegant with hints of Granny Smith and lots of pressure from the slate. Driven by the acidity. Dancing through the palate.
Some pear as well as mirabell. Fells like zero gravity.
Her royal Highness Princess Charlotte is honored to have such a wine dedicated to her.
Bottle emptied in 20 min. Another one?

Smells a bit dried out with lots of cedar and iodine which i actually really like. Still firm tannins and some freshness. On the mid-palate cedar again and hints of cherries. Lovely to drink with massive flow. Wish I had some more of those bottles in the cellar. Perfect drinking performance

1998 Billecart-Salmon Champagne Cuvée Nicolas François Billecart

This champagne I tasted out of the Lehmann champagne Grand Cru glass, which is better than Zalto White wine and the Schott-Zwiesel Chardonnay enoteca.
Very vital perlage. Love the nutty and woody nose. On the palate it’s green pear and brioche. This champagne is medium bodied and more on the wine-like side. The dosage is maybe 2gramms too much in my opinion so it turns more in everybody’s darling. It has a nice complexity but the length is a bit missing. Nice for everyday champagne or light meals.
Needs 10 min to open in the glass
No date of degorgement on the bottle

Starts like an Granny Smith on slate. Racy and wild in the beginning but the edginess fades out and the fruit turns into quince.
It looses a bit the precision on the mid-palate and it get‘s a bit sweet. Was expecting a bit more from one of my favorite wines out of a nice and cool vintage.
It does have the pressure of a great wine and it actually is. I‘m just missing the dryness and animating acidity

Perfect and classic claret! The level was upper mid-shoulder. Lots of leather and old woods in the nose. Perfect matured but had its peak 5-10y ago. But for a “off-vintage“ this old just so delicious and drinking with a massive flow! Elegant and fresh on the palette always forcing another sip. Well done old boy! This is what I love to drink

Perfect drinking performance. Elegant with a Medium body. The tannins and the oak is still a bit too loud. The fruit is on the sour cherry and plum side. The acidity is a little dull. But after all this is a very serious village and will develop the 10 years I guess

New and totally developed Pinot style from Kühling-Gillot.
Shows layers of green plums and sour cherries. The oak is very restraining and fine. Lots of grip and depth. I will observe the fine-tuning of the Domaine and see how big this can get

Actually it’s a high 97+. Bottle opened two days before for one glass. The nose was perfect ripe Riesling grapes in burgundy style. But still buckled up and very firm. Today (2 days later) it slowly starts to open. Cristal clear and racy minerals with hints of Granny Smith and unripe apricots. It hits the pallet so gently but with enormous pressure and running through like on rollerblades. Never ending finish. Will hide all of these bottles in the real back of the cellar... Made for eternity
